Electric Stand up

This is indeed interesting and HUGE props to Freeform for developing this electric jetski, although i hoped to see an electric ski with a bit lower weight.
One thing that comes to my mind, it looks like freeform is only selling the Electrical ski "Gratis" now? Did they stop selling their hulls alone?
Im a bit confused about the business model or goal? If i remember correctly their goal before the company and freeform hull was launched was to produce a new type jetski freeride hull that could lower cost with higher production numbers and get more people in the sport? :)

People have to actually be buying it to get higher production numbers. I haven't seen a lot of their hulls around

a bit heavy... but so difficult to achieve a real good weight/power/range ratio... need compromise...
i m really interested about the torque, cause we could be sad about not more than 46HP ... i think it is close to 106Nm considering the Specs of zero motorcycle ?

can't stand to test that !!!

I also red on some post that zero provide a engine/controller set (ZF75-7) wich deliver 54HP ... ;-)))

sure that the x-h2o community will push for improvment soon ... euh... I hope ...
cause for sure this the future of our sport !
and AN AWESOME WAY TO GIVE THIS SPORT WHAT IT DESERVE... and hit the waves with surfers around hahaha... so nice !!!

I wanted to do this years ago in an old 550 hull so i could ride a lake right next to my house that only allowed electric powered boats. I had found a unit meant for powering sailboats when there was no wind but it was way outta my budget. I look at the price of this and its even further outta the budget...

Hi,

Would be super cool to see the engine/power source portable to a 701 platform n the like. As much as I love the brapp; the relative silence of an electric standup would be total zen on a calm morning's ride

Find one of these they come up on ebay all the time for less than 100$ shipped
http://www.ebay.com/itm/152192660048

Then order this controller and the 19$ option to waterproof it.
http://kellycontroller.com/kdz7255024v-72v550aseriespm-p-965.html

Then get 4 of these to run in series and give you around 70volts fully charged.
https://hobbyking.com/en_us/multistar-high-capacity-4s-16000mah-multi-rotor-lipo-pack.html

Give you about 10-15 minutes of run time, order 4 more to get 20-30 minutes. +/- depending on how you program the controller. (amps = torque)

Rpms would be around 3800 so would need to play with the pump to get her dialed in. Or find another motor with higher rpm rating. I currently have one that is 12v 3600 rpms so at 24v I will be at 7200rpms. :D

Or if you want to haul ass on the lake get this one, and to feed it join one of the ev forums and buy up some cheap batteries from a wrecked electric car.

Glad to see this come out. I always think of making an electric standup on long cross country drives. But I'm thinking of using so much juice that you could die riding the thing if something goes wrong. I'll take a TP100XL 72000W brushless with just enough battery to run for 10 minutes in a flatwater boat. Thanks.

oh man the fuuuuuutre... I like the concept a lot, I agree with x2mafia on they could def market it to rich people more as an electric toy and hopefully grow the sport.

Just wait for my article on the new Krash ski next week.

Don't get me wrong, This IS cool...

But, you will all be MIND BLOWN at what is going to unveil next week. I'm saying no more because I promised Nick to keep it on the DL...

I just don't think it's time for the push for electric...yet

I've done the California Freestyle, Crazy Joe's, Free Form and I'm finishing up the article from my interview with Nick last week

And I will have a phone interview with Jordan, CEO of Freeform soon to find out more details on this

@rhugo21 i didn't literally mean race gas. I meant not everyone is into gas, wrenching, tuning, etc. most shops won't even touch a 2 stroke watercraft anymore. It's hard to voice my opinion without knocking Krash. Just to be clear I'm NOT knocking Krash. What Krash is about to do helps us jetskiers and friends of us jetskiers that want to get into Jetskis.

What freeform is doing is could possibly be the BIGGEST game changer since 1974 when the js came out. Think if this was in skymall on an airplane flight?

There's only a few major components realistically on this thing. Battery, motor, ecm. They should be plug n play and don't need tuning. They don't need gas, or oil for that matter. This is treehugger, tesla owning, enviro friendly fun for everyone.
