At this point, sleep on it.

I beat my head up against a problem at work last week for a couple hours. I came back in the next morning and had it figured in under 5 minutes.

I will make this very simple, if you can't take the brown wire coming off the solenoid and touch it to the red fuse wire coming off the Positive lead and crank it over then you have the starter and battery cables swapped, it will not matter what side of the relay you put the two cables on. The red lead has to be physically attached or connected to the positive battery cable or you will not have power to the whole system.

so your saying that there will always be hot wire running to the cdi and up ____. cant remember what other components it runs to. i thought it only was hot after it started to crank. i will definately try it though. thanks

This is correct, and what I was trying to say in my other post as well, WFO just stated it better. The heavy gauge red wire with the little red tail is connected to the battery at all times.

step 1: You should have 4 terminals on the starter solenoid. 2 big battery cables and 2 small wires. I believe the 2 small wires are brown and black. Take some alligator clips and hook the black directly to the negative terminal on the battery. Then briefly touch the brown wire to the positive terminal on the battery. If you hear a click or the engine starts cranking, the solenoid is good. If not, replace the solenoid.

it will crank by doing this. I actually left the little black connected in the ebox ground and simple take the little brown and touch the hot post. The little black proves i have a good ground running from the ebox into the stator. Hopefully my buddy has a extra solenoid to try.

Yes the red pigtail with the fuse is hot all the time, that wire is system power, everything runs through that one fuse. Of course you can cross out the posts on the solenoid and it will start, all you are doing is bypassing the solenoid. Of course you can run a wire from the battery positive post to the brown wire and it will start, all you are doing there is bypassing the switch and energizing the solenoid manually.

That proves that your solenoid is good and your ebox ground is good. What that tells me is... 1.) you aren't getting power to your starter switch. 2.) your starter switch is bad. 3.) your kill switch or stop switch is bad. Best way to check that is to first test the voltage on the red wire going to your lanyard with a multimeter. You should be able to check it at the plastic plug. If it registers 12v, it's good and leaves you with the kill and stop switch. Next is to check the resistance between the switches. With the lanyard attached the white and black shouldn't measure anything. When you push the stop button, it should measure 0 ohms. It should also measure 0 ohms if you pull the lanyard out. Hopefully, this will reveal your true problem.

Just in case... You have to have the lanyard attached for the switches starter button to work.

ITS RUNNING. two things were wrong. i had the two power lines from the box flipped. Meaning had the battery line going to the starter. Honestly other than that i dont know what i had going wrong. i tried so many different things i dont know what i did and didnt do right anymore. problem solved, now on to the next problem. a bad vibrating noise just above idle and a hot midshaft.
