You should be fine.
that is what i thought. i swapped them at the end figuring that was it. wrong. when it wasnt the fix, i gave up. i guess ill go back through everything i tried before switching those wires and see what happens paired with all the recent recommendations. You should be fine.
thanks hopefullyi have hooked up the enhancer wrong once or twice and been in your shoes. You'll get it. only so many things there can be.
so your saying that there will always be hot wire running to the cdi and up ____. cant remember what other components it runs to. i thought it only was hot after it started to crank. i will definately try it though. thanksI will make this very simple, if you can't take the brown wire coming off the solenoid and touch it to the red fuse wire coming off the Positive lead and crank it over then you have the starter and battery cables swapped, it will not matter what side of the relay you put the two cables on. The red lead has to be physically attached or connected to the positive battery cable or you will not have power to the whole system.

i still dont think you will light it on fire
step 1: You should have 4 terminals on the starter solenoid. 2 big battery cables and 2 small wires. I believe the 2 small wires are brown and black. Take some alligator clips and hook the black directly to the negative terminal on the battery. Then briefly touch the brown wire to the positive terminal on the battery. If you hear a click or the engine starts cranking, the solenoid is good. If not, replace the solenoid.
it will crank by doing this. I actually left the little black connected in the ebox ground and simple take the little brown and touch the hot post. The little black proves i have a good ground running from the ebox into the stator. Hopefully my buddy has a extra solenoid to try.
He got it running today.
