I ran Tem's carbon superfreak box in mine when I had a b pipe. It's about the same shape as the old style x metal box.

The ATP waterbox fits fine. It's small and light, and sounds awesome. The TDR fits nice too, but it is a tad louder... not cool for small lakes with homes on them, or early morning rides, in my opinion.

I've squeezed a stock RN box in my Q8, it was a TIGHT fit with the 550 fuel tank though.

I loved my Hooker 10/16, but wished it would have had a little more down low - 9/15 would be my choice. I ran a Skat 9/17 for the first few months I had the ski set up, it was OK but the Hooker made a nice difference.

alright, 9/15 sounds common so far. I ran an 8/16 big hub swirl on my yamasaki but that would spin with the 701.

I started disassembling my boat last night. My hull will be up for sale soon if you guys have local riding buddies interested in a q8. I figure at some point you've probably let someone ride your ski and they may be in the market.

You're right., it's set up for yamaha running gear all the way through. No need to source a kawi pump. The steering cable still runs down the left side of the boat (kawi) but that's an easy change by just flipping the steering nozzle. I'll be including a lot of little extras that will be detailed in the sale thread. Perfect boat for a buddy with a square looking to do a swap.
