I glassed in aluminum and drilled/tapped it for the pump when I refoamed my q8. Those cheesy conversion plates made pump alignment a nightmare. Plus they allowed the pump to flex which broke the ears off my wear ring twice.
Well my eme micro quit today on its maiden voyage. The mid shaft conversion peice literally sheared in half. If I didn't have a bilge it would've went under. They are going to send a new beefier one which rocks. Have no clue how it happened. Maybe vibration? The only vibration. I could think of is from a unbalanced crank or unbalanced flywheel. The flywheel is a @#ZERO but I would assume he balanced it although there are no balancing marks. Either way vibration didn't seem much more than a regular superjet.
