conditions really werent good at all.there were peaks all over the place but not organized at all. not much to work with imo

i didn't even see too many airs or re-entries to judge. The double roll was awesome though.

I think this is interesting also, a hull extension for the Q8 to help heavier riders or surf riding I bet.

Looks like an SXR plate...I'll bet that makes it handle more like a light SXR in the surf.

I was there, he broke it doing the double roll, did 2 or 3 more heats after that, made the final but got smoked by Pierre.

Just for the record...all the other competitors had the same conditions all day. From the angle of the camera, it looks really messy, but it wasn't that bad at all.

Unfortunately, Eric's runs resembled more of a flat water routine than a surf heat.

I agree that the conditions weren't great but his flow and style we not that great.

I don't know if it was him or his boat but he had control problems in the small surf.

The q8 is a sweet boat, but a handful in the surf. It is really light, short and responsive to wave action. That makes it awesome in flatwater, but is a bit of a challenge in the surf. As you can see in the video he is wrestling with the ski both on the water and in the air. It rotates fast and it is easy to over rotate on rolls and flips.
