So what you're saying is... Bob got Fiore'd?

I wish Bob would post up on here instead of your side of the story. Cause I've heard your stories before, and they all smell like BS.

@MattJones Chris makes a lot of money, and a more than a few enemies being the middle man.

If that story is true why would you owe bob anything....? All Bob did was have you order and engine from Remi...? It'd be nice if Bob chimed in.
IFFF that story is true then bob needs to realize that this poop happens. Its happened to me on a much larger scale and alot of other guys on here. Thats just how it goes.

Which is more? Can you get over 1 hour of ride time from a full tank? Obviously this is dependent on the motor setup, but I was just curious as I have never payed attention

it depend of the tank you run, but I saw a pics of BOB setup and its set with a bpipe in a SJ so I guess its the stock oem tank who is close to 5 gal. 5 gal of fuel it maybe 1.5-2hours of ride time with a 850............

Remi-
I agree 100%, I was told 10 hours.

Thanks for all your help with this so far remi.
So Remi, in being you built a lot of these, your estimating around 20 hours or so of run time?

I will have BOB verify the story later, when i speak with him, but i think thats the gist of it all. I will see if there anything further.

1hour-20hr... 1kart tank -55gal drum. Makes no difference.. the crank that was used ,broke ,and did damage is cause of more damage and cost. If you feel guilty for allowing your friend to use the "brand", get your wallet out.. never saw pics...only words.. some good rods are made so they bend,b4 breaking.. but they will cost more...
Can't people understand why there is a difference, between a 275$ part and a 550$ one?
Every engine WILL break, but "when", can be ....predicted...

When you take your CHL class, they tell you that if you are forced to pull your gun on someone who is threatening your life, call 911 as soon as you safely can, and not a second later.

Because if the attacker/ other person calls 911 first, and says some crazy ass pulled a gun on them, you're the suspect.

I think Fiore is "calling 911 first" with this thread.

IF in fact this motor had 10 tanks of gas ran through it, the wrist pin bearings were due for replacement. Were the wrist pin bearings sbt? I had several sets that the pins fell out of and they were new. Worn lower end or wrist pin bearings will cause rod failures. These big bore motors require maintenance levels much greater than oem. If the owner is not able to do this work maybe he should have gone another route. Again we are taking a rod and bearing designed for the 77mm piston and expecting it to handle a 89mm piston with oem reliability.

What, you replace wrist pin bearings every ten tanks or so? That seems overly cautious to me...

Ray did say that he has built a lot of these engines and this is the first crank rod failure. Maybe he can chime in on the wrist pin bearing replacement schedule for his big bores.

seems quite frequent to me to....i ran about a season and a half with out ever tearing my ss850 apart....probably close to 150 gallons of fuel...no failure

Talk of wrist pins reminds me no one answer what type wrist pin bearings where used. Everyone is quick to say the cheap crank pos...etc. but if cr500 based Pistons were used (even dasas) and a specific OEM honda wrist pin bearing wasn't used there could be issues. The only correct wrist pin bearing to be used with any of the cr500 Pistons on a yamaha based crank is oem honda. Others like the boys a PHP would agree with me.

what time frame would you say they need to be replaced...if the correct bearings were used?
