ET 967 Tuning Thread

I’m not worried about crank life. As long as I get a summer out of it I’m happy. More worried about having too much power .

1100 is better than the 967. The 1100 won’t make you feel like you need more, but the 967 will for FW. I don’t think the crank life or rebuild cost is much different anyway. $550 to have a 10mm crank rebuilt vs a $230 sbt crank. But of course the upfront cost is more, but worth it in the long run.

That's assuming a stock stroke crank needs to be rebuilt at the same intervals as a 10mm which isn't true. Even Art himself said the 10mm will need to be rebuilt much more often (common for stroked engines). So really, you are talking $550 every year, plus time to teardown, shipping costs, etc. Versus rebuilding the 967 every 2-3 years (depending on hours). For me that additional downtime and cost wasn't worth the investment. However, I also don' think I'm ready for 1107 power. When I get used the 967 in a year or two, maybe my opinion will change lol.

Just curious anyone run this motor with fs49s? Torn between the 967 and 1107. Never flipped a ski. Already have the 49s. Thanks
FS 49 are great carbs, easy to setup. I ran These on DASA 850 SS, TPE 900CO comp and now ET1107. Never had any issue.

Im surprised you guys running that low pitch impeller with oem 155 pump on a ET967.

What kind of riding are you doing?

I ride flat water. Mine hooks decent now that it’s all tuned in

Your opinion will change lol- plus 10mm cranks don’t need to be rebuilt every year. I’m on year 3 and just starting to think about tearing down for a rebuild. And that’s riding multiple times a month/week in FL. The key is not letting your motor swallow a bunch of water. I know guys will stock stroke that go through cranks almost twice a year mostly due to water intrusion. And for people like that, they should not have strokers...

I’ve have the 967 and 1100, I wish I did the 1100 first and skipped the 967, that’s my main point.

Im running a ET1107 with a longblade 13/18 in Setback mag, spaced all the way back to veins.

But i ran a 7/14 in a dasa 850 SS - i think a propper setup ET 967 should be able to push a 10/16
Tbh i think alot of guys are underpropped.

For reference, the OEM impeller in a 155 pump for a Yamaha wave venture 701 is 11/14 :)

With that said, you will be happy with the ET1107, i dont think you will be able to find more "bang for your buck".
is it the best engine on the market, proberly not - but it deliver amazing power and you will be able to do anything with it.

Yes the Oem(967 Et) stroke is way more reliable than a +10 stroker .... I got the 967 and some friend have the +10 AdA or whatever !! rebuilding it every year or you are seating on a bomb !!! Cheers

I run fs49 on my 1107 soo does @Christian_83 what a you looking for ???
I was more of less trying to find out if the 967 runs well with the fs49. I read some forums that mentioned they were too much. I’ll be going with the 1107 with zeel charging. I don’t want a total loss. I’d like to run no scupper but not sure if dual 500s are a good alternative.

FS49's are fine with a 967.

About to order another one of these motors in the next week. Running just an msd right now with sbn46 and a 148 mag. Last ski I built I ran a 11/17 5mm cut back. Anyone know if I could get away with a 10/16 ??

If it’s the same cutback and otherwise the same I’d say you will be fine. You can pretty easily bend a prop one degree if you want also.
