Other FAKE Rickter Alert!

Must be a West Coast thing. Around here everyone old enough to know, knows that Joe painted/repaired a metric ton of Region 6 race skis back in the day and did it all out of his garage. I don't know anyone in the area who has said bad about him. Even John Dady spoke highly of Joe's work. Driving through Detroit to get to his house... now that's another story. :D

One bad apple spoils the whole bunch. @CrazyJoesRacing and @air blair shouldn't suffer because of it.

Yup, just moved here from the Midwest. Gotta change the misconception out here!

air blair

you are the reason
Yeah, especially your Chan.

I need another ski like a hole in the head, but I want to go buy a Clone XFU from Shawn JUST to piss people off.

Don't do it man. Then you'd be like the rest of the idiots that support screwing anybody over. Why is it always shawn that is getting railed on the fake rickter thing? Gotta be others that do it

anybody in the hull building business is fighting a losing battle. there are way too many used hulls up for sale and way too many guys building hulls. I don't think air blair, crazy joe, phantom josh, trickstar chad, PJX larry or any of the other minor hull builders are losing any business to skibum and his fake rickters. all of them are just in the wrong business if they think they are going to make enough money to survive, building hulls. building hulls needs to be looked at as a hobby where you make a few hulls and make a few bucks. the last guy that sold a gang of hulls was backie chan steve and he was such a horrible business man , he screwed that all up. the bottom fell out of the hull business at the time of his fiasco.

The brochure that took over the industry!

Joe and Joey both have full time jobs and do this 100% on the side. They worked odd hours making my hull, outside of work, so I commend them for the hard work.

I'm not saying they lose business. I'm just saying they get associated with the splashed skis or copies, which sucks for them.

And I agree, if building hulls is your only income...good luck

I don't stand a chance in this battle, but here's my only comment that has yet to leave my mind. Granted, this is coming from an 18 year old so hold onto your hats...

To be dedicated to such a hobby as this one, I clearly cannot see how someone would be capable of owning a fake Rickter. It should be a challenge to own such a product; something that you actually have to work for and cherish upon arrival. From my perspective, I wouldn't be capable of dancing around on a fake ski, the guilt itself would be unbearable. Imho, I want to idolize the ones capable of buying an actual Rickter and building it into whatever they desire. Actually make an emotional connection to a ski instead of barely getting by with the fake. Getting a little too deep here but to summarize I don't support the fake skis

air blair

️Fake ass people buy fake ass skis. Period and yes the fake rickters built in Michigan has not only hurt my sales but it has hurt the industry. I have great respect for rickter and innnovation. Very little for a copy cat. Sorry everybody for letting shawn take molds off my ski. He agreed not to do this but see where we are now. Ya know you can take people out of the hood but you can't take the hood outta people.

since you let him copy your ski, it would seem fitting that you lost some sales. not a very smart business decision for you. that would be like me selling half my jetski inventory to my neighbor so he could start selling parts. every good thing comes to an end eventually. if people see somebody doing something and succeeding, then they think they can do the same thing and succeed. pretty soon everybody is doing it and nobody makes money.

Yup, you and I talked about it a few times here! I could not get pic to load. New computer sometimes does not like old files for some reason. Still one of the best paintjobs I ever saw on a race ski.
What happened to Remar?
