Ok Got the pole on. The braket that comes with the ski has the provison for the pole spring bracket. I like
pole springs so i don't have the feel of always picking up the pole. So after getting the brcket and spring all installed I could not get enough tentions on the pole bolt to keep the pole in place. Spring kept wanting to push the pole all the way up. So I removed the spring. Then I couldn't get the tension right without the spring. When I tightened the pole bolt both the bracket and pole would just crush. So I have to install RRP's pole anti crush bushing. Then I was able to get the tension right. I will have to revisit the spring agian and find something that works.

I know all that stuff adds weight but not enough in my case buddy. I feel the Spring support will have to be shortened so it doesn't put as much pre-load on spring. For some reason I have a super spring...haha

Then I got to work on some port matching. First I got the gasket done. Then moved on to the Manifold. I also had to go at the cylinder a little. Needed to move the manifold up. So took some off the power valve bosses so it could go up. You can also see the manifold threads break into the cooling jacket.

OK I shimed the motor before I put the Cylinder on. Man that make it way easier. I also found out that the shimming would change a lot when the motor mounts bolt that hold down the bed plates to motor mounts are tight compared to the motor just sitting on mounts.
Managed to get the Type 4 to fit. Had to take a dead blow hammer to make the pipe clear the front power valve when it is open. And in the end I had to flatten the top to clear the lid(hood).
Also had to put the electrical plate all the way to the right for the coils to clear pipe.

I woke up on a Saturday morning and after my coffee, I decided to drill bypass fitting holes. I had to get it done and wasn't really sure where I wanted them. So all fresh I finally settled. They came out pretty good.

OK I give, ski has been done since somewhere around June 10th. I have to say that I am pleasantly surprised with the hull. I have ridin Freaks, Q8s and shortened SJs and I always been so comfortable on my old faithful stock lenght SJ. I have to say the best thing is the rocker and how wide the tray is. After not very long I have been able to plate to plate roll this bad boy with no problem. I love how easy it is to roll flatwater. I have actually over rotated a flatwater roll! Next I have pulled off a couple flatwater backflips but can't do it consistently. Also have back flopped a lot and the hull doesn't let water in and I haven't broke anything so very very happy there!! I have rode in Freshwater surf just this past Tuesday and you don't need trim or full throttle to back flip!!! LOL.
Here is a few pics of first long weekend on ski. Will have more pics.
