wow, so sad just searched superjetruss on the x and read some of his posts and threads, he was a member since the begininng, be careful people around boats and crowded places, anybody have any more info on him

Details are not clear yet. Russ was riding alone not too far from his house. It was the first hot weekend here in Illinois and the Chain O' Lake's is a madhouse on the weekend. From what I was told the driver of the boat was not drinking, but when they hit he didn't even slow down or stop. I am unsure of how fast he was going. He drove down the shoreline to a close by bay and stopped. He eventually came back but from what I understand it wasn't till after the other boaters pulled Russ from the water and were taking him to shore. He had major injuries to his legs, I can only assume it was from the propeller and injuries to his arm and head. They haven't issued any citations it is under investigation, police told the family they might not have answers till NEXT SPRING. I am unsure as to what the driver told police. The driver of the boat was 69 year old, I just don't know how you keep going after colliding with someone/something. Prayers go out to his family and friends. He was doing what he loved and I think he would want us to keep riding. Just do it safely.

Flippin' old people shouldn't be behind the wheel of a boat traveling at speeds where they can't recognize (or see) what is in front of them.
You know that boat wasn't going slow, or else the injuries wouldn't have been that bad / fatal.

Just like old people driving cars, most of them are a danger to everyone on the road.

This is horrible...it's close to home and just horrible. Everyone please be careful out there this weekend and the rest of the summer.

RIP Russ, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
