Fire extinguishers in am skis

That's the key....we live in a area so crowded with boats and massive yatchs with 30 drunk ppl on board that a few jetskis doing back flips are hardly looked at. The Dnr has told me a few times " don't care about you I want to land the big drug bust "

You don't even need ID numbers on our skis. They may....May give you a ticket at most if they truly feel like it. Big deal $45. We see cops maybe 1-2x all season. Oh how I love life on the Chesapeake lol.

You totally just jinxed us. If I get a ticket this summer you're getting punched in the sack.

Hahaha!! I know I won't get caught the rickter stays at wide open. Just zig and zag like a impala being chased by a lion. Survival of the fittest ;-)

Or just keep a roll of $100's in your fire ext tube to pay your fines up front.

wish ours were more like that. Instead of worrying about all the drunk boaters on the sandbar and underage drinking, they would rather make sure we have proper registration stickers. profiling at its finest.

To be completely honest the DNR cops in our area are really cool. We have boat races each year and the cops would come over and let us hang on their boat to watch the races. When we see them out we wave and honor the laws about proximity to boats. They typically realize we are responsible, we wear helmets, vests, etc.

What it usually comes down to is respect. They have a job to do. We choose to abide or not. Be respectful and most times they are cool. Others you might not be as lucky, but we've been fortunate. Each year is a new slate with new cops, guess we will see what this year brings.

good way to fup duck a decent motor

Gotta do what you gotta do, I have tried to explain to cops several times why I dont have an extinguisher, they dont care! Do I want it there, Heck no! but do I want to ride, Heck yes!

You can empty out the powder and fill with air, so that the green button still works, plus the extinguisher only weighs .5 lbs when empty, this is what i was told ;). Oh and the red cap normally just screws off, so you can pour out the remaining powder. If you want it to be more realistic, you can partly fill with water before pressurizing the extinguisher, so that it would feel and look legit.

Our lake patrol guys have big off shore looking boats with twin 250hp on the back, so no out running them lol.

Not that exciting of a story, saw the sheriff boat (24 foot center console with twin outboards) while riding close to my buddies. I thought I could beat them to the boat ramp in the next bay over so I ran for it, and they happened to have another sheriff waiting at the boat ramp for me. Just got a ticket for riding too close to shore but they tried to get me for any and everything in the book.

SXR mount

How is SXR mount secured to the hood. I bought one last year and am finally finishing my SJ build. I'm running a Blowsion Hood with a Pancake Pete front foothold, so the Tom21 option and stock option are off the table at this point.

I need to get one for a new build. What's the smallest size and where to get it? I'm just going to zip tie it to the tank straps for my inspection.

What series of extinguisher is that? Smallest ones I've seen that looks even half way certified.

These are the smallest ones. marine approved and at least 16oz. looks like a can of hairspray.
The 16oz ones technically do not meet the requirement due to size. However, here`s a red one that even has a picture of a boat right on the front. http://www.ebay.com/itm/FireAde-Koo...ash=item2100aa8bf8:g:T1UAAOSwMmBVzSrx&vxp=mtr

Since most of the point of the extinguisher on a ski seems to be to help other boaters put out a fire....I always carry my 3" water pump when riding, I conveniently attached it to the bottom of my ski for quick deployment.
