Freestyle First Superjet build...

Spring of 2012 i bought my first SJ. This is my first superjet build. Any comments or suggestions to the build are appreciated.


inside hull after one layer or reinforcing fiberglass

old 650 motor on the left/"new" 701 on right



new solas mag w/ 9/15 hooker
-Sand blasted OEM pole bracket and midshaft bearing... painted black

got the hull getting painted now... anyone have any suggestions for gel coating the botom of the hull? what to use, how to do it?

this year i have already sunk quite a bit of money into it. It is just a stock 701. Next year i will pull the motor again, lighten flywheel, port match verything. and i am not sure about the MSD ignition... is it worth it??? Will get a B-pipe eventually... right now im running a blaster pipe...

701 with the exhaust... exhaust fit with a little trimming... This is before it was sent out for paint... Will post new pics when painting is done

any suggestions on what plugs to run for this setup??? stock 701 w/ 35cc domes... dont want to make the mistake of getting too long of a spark plug...

I don't think it matters but your Ada head is on the wrong way. Love the color you went with for your engine.

Actually it does, water comes in the manifold side and needs to exit carb side.
If water exits manifold side, carb side will never get enough water to cool.

Would a tilting nozzle be a little overkill for the setup i have going right now? or is it still a good thing to get and sit on until i make my motor a 760???

I don't see where you can see a pic of the motor with the head Let alone make out the head is backwards

you have to look kinda hard, but the outlet's for the water is on the exhaust side...

Dont the ADA heads use the full length BR8ES plugs? BR8HS for stock head?

edit -

Must use BR8ES or BR9ES spark plugs, cannot use stock short reach plugs. Spark plugs not included.

so i was wondering. do i need to run dual cooling on this stock 701?

I have a trim nozzle that i was thinking about putting on, and i was not sure how to run the trim cable besides through the stock bilge line.

how would you run another pipe through the hull to get the trim cable back when i do eventually build this motor up and want to run dual cooling. Right now the manifold i have is only set up for single cooling, i do not feel like drilling and tapping for dual, next winter i will probably get a b-pipe with a dual cooling mani. Thoughts/suggestions???
