Staying true to the Ski Clinic's reputation the ski has quality issues. I purchased the ski knowing this so not much of a surprise. Having said that I do like the ski and very much enjoy the way it rides. So here I am!

Issues; Most of these are pretty minute but they all add up to a significant amount of water and weight in the ski while riding.

-Bondrails leak - water poors out of them when I come back to shore.
-There is still some water in the bond rails even after the ski has not seen water since September.
-The tray leaks
-The engine bay also leaks
-Trim cable is being "sealed" with 5200
-Exhaust outlet leaks
-Scupper leaks
-More I am sure I still haven't found yet.
-People asking me if my name is Bob

Plan to fix everything:
-Going to grind in between the bond rails and seal with epoxy resin and micro spheres and maybe some cabosil if needed.
-Not sure yet but might do a layer of 4oz s-glass over the rails to help seal them.
-In the engine bay, going grind out the top layer of poorly hand laid carbon, fix a small leak where the carbon did not fully wet out in lay up and any other issues I find.
-Cover the engine bay and firewall in a layer of 6oz s-glass and maybe a second layer of 4oz
-Cut open the tray
-Remove the foam
-Fix leaks
-Put in a layer of 6oz s-glass in the tray
-Add a second "home depot" scupper to the xmetal scupper tube
-Figure out a way to seal off the trim tube 100%
-Remove Bob sticker and put something else in its place. Fickter, Crash, SuperFreek, Fantom, Twister, xshout. I am open to ideas. :)

Cut a small hole in the tray to get an idea of what I am dealing with. Going to start back up when my new respirator and goggles come in.

How deep is your water? I know everyone is concerned about sinking their skis. I don't have foam and no issues so far. Used that dense foam padding that people are using since that doesn't seem to absorb water vs that pour in stuff. That way if you got a little water you can drain it out. I had a BOB gen 2 and had two screws in the back but very little water came out. Seal as best as you can and think about carbon tape between seems after you glue the two halves back together. Little extra layer to hold water tight when out riding.

and for trim cable Jetmaniac sells a cool rubber piece that clamps on the trim tube (assuming you have the metal trim tube and not just a through hole). Good luck. Hope things end up well and come up and ride with some of you guys this summer!

Plan is to foam it with the HD pink stuff after I glass it. I also stuff a few pool noodles in the engine bay. Skis cost way too much not to have foam.

Got a little further and Good news! If I decide to split the decks it should be really easy since the little bit of glue they did use didn't fill the gap between the decks.. And more good news! the majority of the carbon is dry, so I should be able to reuse it. I had to chisel the nice pools of epoxy out of the bottom of the hull. Also explains the water weeping out of the side of the ski.. Sad that a company can take such little pride in there work.

Anyone have any tips on getting the exhaust and water lines etc out? They are covered in resin and some glass. I am thinking I might have to get in there with a dremel or cut them out.

Ended up taking a Sawzall to the scuper pipe and through hull fittings for cooling lines and trim. So much resin and glue blobbed all over everything it would have taken hours to keep them usable and remove them. Then spent way too much time with my most aggressive cutting bit on the dremel to grind out all of the large globs of wasted resin and glue..

Still working on getting the exhaust out. But close to saying f-it and cutting it out as well..

Sub'd. This will give me ideas if my bob ever decides to take in any sort of water. Wonder if there's a difference in build between the carbon and glass lay up

Wow....some serious restoration.....its interesting to see the inside for once.
Install new waterlines best stainless tubes ( 3 ) , I can send u specs for these I ordered them really cheap via amazon.
I would eliminate the bend in the scupper line, attempt to run a straight line, the best scupper I ever made was a one way valve form Home depot installed at the engine wall side with a thread ( can be closed with a cap ) engine side in case u run river or ocean ) and a scupper at the rear of ski....

That ski could sit in the water for ever without sinking....one way valve did the trick.
