Flatwater Backflip

I've been riding for 9 years, I've had a a/m hull for 2 years, I finally bought trim and went for the backflip this year, I landed plate to plate on my second try, but I have a lots of tray time and I have 5 friends that are very good at flipping, so I was coach before trying. Flipping was the shortest learning curve out of all my tricks I have learned. But I also have a decent setup, 2016 footrocket, xs865ss.

If flips is what you want. I would build a wdk rip with a big bore stock cylinder motor 771-816cc. That would be a cheap, some what easy flipper. But it's take experience, and getting comfortable with the ski till your ready to flip.

That's honestly exactly what I was looking for. Thank very much, I would love to demo a few and see what I'm getting into. But other than that if I like it I'll definitely look into a ski with that setup. What's your best recommendation for a pump setup?

Flipping depends more on the person then setup. I had a 200lb guy flip one of our early Chan's with a 61x 701, enhancer and b pipe. Landed his first flip on his third try. Also know people who have and amazing A/M setup and just can't do it.

Bigger the better lol. I run a 148 mag. I prefer the Oem 155, but it doesn't fit most a/m unless you ordered it that way. For budget, I would run a Oem 144 or 155.

Anything can flip, but hp makes up for lack of skill to a certain point. As long as you have perfect form, anything is possible, but that's unrealistic for beginner.

@bach6177 would you be at any free rides near me? Or anyone you know that would be willing to let me demo a few hulls? Not trying to be obnoxious about it, but that would be ideal

How much are you willing to spend on a hull. I think it's more about the hull for a flatwater flip than the motor. I'm 285lbs and could flip my full length superjet off yacht wake and in the surf. I have a Dvx now and it flips with ease. No need for a big motor with the right hull.

Still trying to figure out which hull I'm interested in. There are so many options out there, just not sure oh which would be best for me to start with

I'm sure @SmittySX can hook you up with a wdk rip. It's a decent riding flatwater hull with an affordable price tag. The Dvx is an awesome riding flatwater hull but is pretty expensive. XScream just came out with the new helium hull so I'm sure you will be seeing some used Dvx hulls popping up
