@BradyK i dont know if anyone said this before in the thread, but i deff mean that you should get a "good" hull for a good starting point. This will ease your learning curve and make you happier.
I would any day ride a good hull with a smaller power plant, than a poor heavy hull with a big engine.

Lol, your a little far from me. I can crate it up for someone though if they arrange and pay for shipping.

Understandable. Any recommendations on the power plant I should run? Or do you have any available you would ship for an additional cost? So many to choose from, just not sure which I would prefer

I'm liking the WOK rip and rok-r. Affordable and reliable from what I hear

I will be keeping my power plant as of now, but I am currently running a 62t/61x 781 BB with a stock 144 and a hooker. This setup has been plenty of power for this little hull. Very flickable hull as well.

Sounds good. I might try to demo one first but you definitely have my interest. Please keep me in mind if plans fall because I'm a fan of the hull

Might be putting my rokr hull up shortly if my gp1200 sells today.

I flatwater flip and 360 with a 701 in my glass/carbon RIP. Ridden some of the top dollar flatwater hulls and Im still loving my hull. For reference, It's a lot shorter than a dvx so its a good bit more responsive and flickable especially with a smaller motor. For the price it's damn hard to beat. Also have heard great things about the early chans and the new phantoms for budget hulls.

I couldn't figure out why my ski wouldn't spin so easy, found out I'm running a SN steering cable and don't have near the throw I should. Still spins pretty easy though, can't wait to get a different cable and do some 360's.

@BradyK Do you self and favour and try to get to ride a few diffrent hulls. Because what some people think is good and nice hull is not nessecary the hull you find nice and good.
I made a mistake once and bought a hull that some people said was really nice and "light" and to be honest it was far from my expecteience - it was a BOB G3 ;(
look at @Wakerider26 on a DVX 701 if i recall correct :)

Impressive for a 701.
I personally dont like how bobs ride either, but I have seen some people look pretty good on them.
I dont think I've heard one person say they don't like the DVX, it's a great hull, but cost alot of money.

Yeah, dvx definitely is an awesome hull for sure but a lightweight carbon hull isn't going to be cheap.

Not trying to discount the 701 dvx vid up there, but thats an extremely talented rider and that XS tuned package is a monster.. Have a friend who's ridden it and said it hits harder than most people's personally tuned 800-900s..
@Twake @NorCalSJ and me are a few I know off the top of my head that weren't pros before we were able to flip our 701s. Twake is an animal though and did it with ease on his old chan and norcal had a rip.
@chucktor also rides with two people who flatwater flip phantoms with smaller motors. One with a built 701 and the other with a stock 760 and a b pipe. Another great hull choice.

I'm really hoping to demo some hulls as you mentioned. I am interested in the phantom hull and the RIP but I'll definitely demo anything anyone is willing to let me lol. Very excited to get one for myself though. Worried about the hull for now, but then the power plant plays a role
