what if there was a flywheel tool that did everything you wanted it to?

i came up with a simple puller/holder that allows removal and instalation of the flywheel without the normal hassle of pulling the battery, gas tank ect. or roping the cylinder

this tool can also be used to hold the flywheel for coupler removal. never rope a cylinder again!

what would that be worth? im trying to figure out if i can make this worth doing.

i had it drawn in cad last week by a guy with a plasma table and we punched out a couple prototypes which i am happy to say work like a charm, but... after consulting with a powdercoater and crunching the #'s it looks like i would have to sell them for about $40 each

That doesn't sound too bad.. I think most would pay that. Have any pictures?

Depends..there are already a couple of these tools out there. Does it bolt to the cases using two or so of the stator cover holes?

I believe cold fusion or one of those companies has one of these tools for sale.

nothing like the cold fusion holder tool, which is very nice btw

this is like a conventional puller but specific for use in close quarters that eliminates the the need for a holder or impact wrench ect.

you can do the whole job without removing the gas tank and you can put the fw back on torqued properly without roping a cylinder or any other tricks.

I always have those jobs to do, lol, but am packing a container in the next three weeks and would rather skip on the international postage.

:27:

Not a big deal to take out the tank in the meantime...

Ahhh..I understand now.

Sounds like a cool product. $40 definitely isn't a bad price at all either!

Im sure if you posted up some pictures it my spur peoples interest a bit more.

EDIT: Also..I couldn't say i would definitely buy one...but there is a good chance if it is a cool tool that I can't live without...that I would.

if anyone has ever had to change a bendix at the beach, then you'll understand.....

being able to pull a fly/bendy without so much as disconnecting the battery freakin' ROCKS!

Yea it sounds like a cool tool after I understood what he meant. At first I thought it was just another flywheel holder...but sounds like its much cooler.

i had to change the bendix in a buddys ski so i took a bunch of pics..

the puller bolts to the flywheel with two bolts and is slotted for a breaker bar or ratchet. this will allow you to loosen the fw bolt.

dont remove the fw bolt, just back it out like the last pic.

install tool onto fw hub with the supplied hardware and tighten the center bolt until the fw pops off the crank taper.
