Dont see whats wrong with dropping the exhaust a bit. Yes an S-curve will work but so will lowering the whole thing. Yes, it will allow water to enter the tube further, but the exhaust gas pressures should be great enough while running that its not a problem.

I decided this weekend.... No Foam!!!!!

I am gonna make bladders or something to float my ski, but there will be no foam in there and I'm gonna put drains in it like on a sitdown..

I know people hate this idea, but I just don't see having it for any reason but to float my ski... I wil re-inforce it on the sides and it will not crack...

What about ping pong balls? I would also install some cross bracing in the hull if you remove the foam.

Maybe this McMaster Carr Part Number: 3748K32

I have drains in my hull and Katie's.

ping pong balls in the void to keep it afloat when it sinks

then just drill some 3/4" holes in the back for drains.. I'll probably put them on the inside of the pump section

Not of ping pong balls but I have pics of drains.
I have voids in my foam on the bottom of my ski to channel any water that may get in there back to the drains and I am sorry to say it works I have got about a cup of water out after a few months of riding and I sealed ever penetration and bond line when I had it apart three years ago.
So when I refoamed Katie’s ski this winter she got channels and drains installed.

FL-Cracker runs foamless too. everyone who's helped him carry his boat knows how light that thing is.

my only real concern with the foamless route was the lack of structural integrity because the foam keeps the sides from caving/flexing when you land f'ed up..

i believe bronson used kevlar to reinforce the sides of his boat so it doesn't flex as much.

it is ridiculously light.... mine is a fing tank

Cross brace across the ski from side to side and to the bottom.

I would also weight the engine and take the engine and vital components out and put lead in it and do a little float testing just to make sure it won't go to the bottom before it gets buttoned up.
