Why not wait.. Save... And purchase something optimal... I don't get it. Rather than having to pray each time you press the start button or each time you try and pull the trim lever. Or install another pool noodle
But that would be way too easy, wouldn't it?
Pray every time I press the start button? My ski always starts up, no choke, no primer.

In all seriousness, I'll have something optimal with a very good amount of throw, and an already built in flow guard due to the newer style trim rings. Zero blow by which is great. Plus, making it optimal costs barely anything. I'm more thinking about setting it up to get me going until the water freezes. And if it works that good, I'll keep it and not change a thing. If not, I'll save up for a different trim system. The reason my cable breaks is simple.. Easy to fix too.

Rosie your gonna learn this huge life lesson eventually.....

It's time or money, you make the choice.

I can always make more money, but not get back my time !

I work whatever hours I can, and sell ski parts and browse craigslist and the forums for good deals constantly. In the meantime, there's time to work on the ski with no wasting time. You know, there truly is a thing called free time.

Just go ride the thing and flip it. Trim isn't what is going to get you around.

Off of my own wake??? I think I need trim if it's off of my own wake. I was getting 2/3rds around with trim and now without trim I have a hard time getting the nose up to hit my setup wave at the right angle. I tried a couple no trim flips, and I'll just say that I need as much help to get rotation as I can.

Yes, off your own wake. Trim isn't this miracle flipper. Work on your setup wake and pre hop more than anything. It's what makes the biggest difference. I had trim with my 701 setup and it didn't help because it just cut the height. Every boat after that I've built has been tommy style (no trim).

Use trim for the setup wake but otherwise you're just sacrificing height

Hmmm interesting! That forces you to prehop in order to get the nose up then too.. But I suppose you need to go faster than I'm probably going to get the necessary rotation..

Work on body English to get the nose up. & I always found that the slower the better. But I could be wrong with your setup.

Yeah, I'm not sure how my setup compares to your 701 setup power wise. But I do think my hull flips easier than your q8 did. We'll see, I won't know until I try everything.

Don't be ripping on the q8 if you've never ridden mine. It was OG freestyle. And after riding your motor I think you are gonna need more. Wouldn't hurt. So do the cases, actually port it, dual 44s at least.

My motor hits a lot harder than it did when you rode it now that it's tuned..

I'm not messing with my motor except for ignition. Other than that, I'm saving up to go big and only have to tune/dial in something that'll last me a few years before I change it again. I hate having a tuned ski and then having to do it all over again. Gets annoying when your ski already rips.

Lol sorry, I'm not made out of money. And my ski rips hard for what it is.

Sure. But you're going to have $700 for a TL setup for a motor that isn't even ported all the way? Do it right the first time. Why do I feel like that theme has come up 100x in this thread already?

Well, my motors already dialed in as is, and HPE stage 3 instead of the stage 1 I have now will cost a decent chunk of change that I can't get back(most likely). But, total loss is something that I'll use on a future motor and setup that I'm saving up for currently. I've already had an EPIC with my setup and I liked the results, so with TL I don't see anything to lose.

But who knows, I can never make up my damn mind.
