Looking for some insight on an all around big CC motor.
I was wondering who on the forms might have some insight based on your experience with any of these motors. At the end of last year I built a new XFR-LT designed to be an all around ski that fits my style. I dropped in the motor I had to take on a surf trip, but now want to put in a new big motor. I’ve seen videos of guys (particularly Gomez) flat water flipping (fairly big) an XFR glass hull with 900-1000 ccs and stock electronics. While I dont have his talent, that's what I want while maintaining an all around ski.

I want:
- “Linear” power
- In order or ridding preference: boat chaser/wake flipper, all around leg dragging lake riding, surf machine, flat water flipper.
- To sacrifice power for reliability. I know it will break, but I don't want to have to spend multiple thousands each year to keep it running.
- arm stretching feeling. Insane power.
- to compete, do crazy combos, or 5 flips in a row.
- run Total Loss. It's not a cost savings issue but reliability issue. I've ran TL in fresh and saltwater for years successfully. However, I'd rather make up the TL factor with more CC's/displacement.
Motor options I have on hand:
- Jetworks 840 - Stock Stroke Super Bore
- Current motor, runs good. 3 seasons old may need a maintenance rebuild or checkup. I can't flatflip with this.
- DASA 1100 - 0 hours - Jetworks built
- 20 hours on original build - Rebuilt new crank after sitting.
- PHP 1015 - 5 hours on original build
- Owner never got it to run right and bought a new ski. I took the motor in a trade.
- Jetworks 900 - Super Bore on 4mm crank
- Send my 840 out for rebuild and add 4mm crank
- Sell any or all and buy something else is an option too, I’ll consider anything.
Other parts I have and prefer to run:
- 3.3 gallon tank
- lithium battery
- 155 mag pump
- thrust trim (going to switch to Rickter with flo guard)
- FS 48s boyseen manifold
- RRP Carbon lay down pipe / RRP waterbox
- MSD enhancer with stock box
