Freeride on MTV

The Good Old Days
Chris, why confuse us with logic ?

It's so obvious that the sport has been growing leaps and bounds playing all nice and waving at fellow boaters. Why change now ?:smlove2:

Love the show and I hope this episode is just the first of many other TV opportunities.

You guys have no balls!!!!!!! If you want to push the sport to grow like it once was we need to think out side the box. If not the only people talking about stand up freeride will be those on x-h20.
Jared,
This is more entertaining than towing your sorry carcass off the beach.Ha,ha,ha
If it doesn't shock you or make you laugh it may not make it on the show is common.I hope they let it roll with some great riding.Looking forward to it.

There isn't a single shot of a standup in the water.

Edit: I lied, there in the background.

Do it twice?That's DooDoo
dang.... was hoping to see something cool.... good thing I dvr'd it.... they showed a few nice skis which looked like a blowsion ski and a rickter among a few others sitting on the beach... and then some waterskiing and tubing wipeouts... that was it.... I guess showing some skis on the beach is better than nothing. Hope they show some footage on TV one of these days

well, we hope anyway lol...

Personally, I think its a good thing, irregardless of how you feel about jackass-edness or tomfoolery, any coverage of the sport that does not include the words "felony, sheriff, death, or minor" can do nothing but help grow it.

Look at it like this...exposure like this gets more people to purchase skis (and alot of people start off with used skis, I wonder where they might get a used ski around here...oh yeah, X board members!). Now, as more people start to ride, companies like Blowsion get more business, expand into multi national conglomerates, and all of the sudden parts are manufactered for pennies on the dollar, making the sport cheaper for everyone but sustainable for the businesses that have slogged through it from the beginning.

New skis sales rise, membership in groups like the AWA increases (giving every rider a stronger voice in the world)...everything is gravy. I think you guys get the point I am trying to make...

Now...after all of that can anyone really say that having mainstream exposure for the sport is a negative rather than a positive?

It is jet ski trickle down economics, and the benefits are something that everyone will notice over the long term...and my scrabble score should be through the roof now lol...

I think the Nitro Circus is the best show I've ever seen on MTV, and it will definitely be good exposure for the sport

for people sayin that the recklessness will portray the sport in a bad way, look what the crusty demons did for dirt bikes. a ton of mx'ers say that helped shape fmx to what it is today. sure it pi$$ed alot of people off but in the long run it helped.

we dont need old people to be big fans of our sport, we need younger kids for the next generation. and jackass type stuff is what i, and other kids my age enjoy watching. :bigok:

good point
