I'm just gonna say it. There are plenty of threads with this information in them already. Search for keywords: superfreak, bob, stunt, rickter, eme, vision, rok, kong, etc. Plenty of discussions out there. It has been discussed ad nauseum and you probably won't get a whole lot more here.

Everyone likes Something different ... Has to do with price also...

Are you on a budget ? Pure flatwater ski only or chasing boats?

You can't say what guys prefer... Guys that only want to spend 4k buy a bob or Rok because it's in there price range.. Don't matter that a freak or Lenzi or Rickter might be Better it's not in there price range.... Some guys can't see spending 20-30k on a ski

If you look on the X... Guys on a budget build Bobs and roks

Guys that want the best buy ... , Superfreaks, Light weight DE, Lenzi, Rickter, eme...

So unless you say I'm on a budget or I want the best this thread is useless...

It is deffinately a budget and preference thing. My favorite flatwater hull is the Rickter XFS. It is one ski that I rode 4 versions of and every single one I felt completely at home on. I was doing flat water backflips the first day I ever attempted them with Taylor Curtis. They turn on a dime, are very stable and do not ride too nose high for how short they are. I have ridden BOB's, EME's, Superfreaks, Roks, ect. For flat water this is my favorite, so now I have one on the way. The superfreaks are an amazing ski though and that should not be over looked. very all around awesome hull.

i just wanna know what everybody prefers and why
why are squares better than round noses? Your signature makes me think you are not serious about an aftermarket hull.

You are asking for too much. Do some of your own research from peoples experiences on these boards and post a thread of your conclusions. Talk to the manufacturers or sales people. Ride some ski's if you can, there are plenty in Michigan. People will gladly let you know where you've gone wrong in your research.

I have said it before. I have only ridden a couple of A/M hulls I knew I would like one for myself. So I found one in my budget and bought it. Stop with all of the need for reviews.

Buck up and buy one you can afford and I am sure you will be happy if not sell it and get another.

I bought a WDK rev hull and I am happy with it for now, Next season I will pick up a Rok or a Rickter depending on the budget at the time. Alot of skis for sale right now. Just buy one and ride.

Guys that want the best? You mean the most expensive? Because last I checked BOB won the AM Freestyle at Worlds, finishing ahead of SuperFreak, Rickter and EME...

Realistically, there is no best or worst hull. I've ridden hulls that I've hated that people have loved, and I've ridden hulls that I've loved and people have hated. It's all personal preference, and you're not going to decide which hull is best for you by reading a bunch of keyboard-jockeys posts on the internet. Try and find some locals that have AM hulls for you to try for yourself.

man good thing my ski wasn't there because that would mean the bob is better because of one day it won an event........ come on.

My Carbon ROK was not built ONLY because I was on a budget, I can afford any hull I want, I build what makes sense all around to me, price is a factor in that but not all I figure on.
I do think that 30K is insane for a ski. But When I bought my Carbon ROK hull there was (in my opinion) Nothing better out there. Now there is a a carbon Freak hull that IMO is the best riding hull but OVERPRICED for the quality I>E> fit and finish and what you have to do to make it look like a decent hull as well as ride awesome.

The XFR and XFS are the oposite, fit and finish are awesome but they are heavey and because of that I think my ROK is STILL better than these. THe Q8 SKY is well, NOT GOOD, The original Q8 was better but does not recover well from landing IMO. This just makes that hull nice and seemingly bullet proof but not as nice a ride as the Frek or the ROK and its priced high in the new market IMO.
The BOB, All I know about is GEN 1 and it has same issues as the Q8 but it is not indestructable, however it is CHEAP compared to a Q8 Rickter or a Freak.

SOOOOOO, IMO, if cost is a factor and I was buying NOW, I would go glass Freak, cost not an option then Carbon Freak, My second choice would be another carbon ROK, but that is not available any longer.

But Josh, I do not think people simply settled for a ROK in all cases due to cost. They are a nice hull and ride great for what I do anyway. I will say that if you have goals of multiple flips in a row then the ROK may not be your hull. It noses in nice and smooth and the other formentioned good hulls tend to snap ya back setting you up for round 2. But doing a dimple nose stab can be vicious.

My opinions again for those that missed it in a few other near identical threads.

Little DK has a point though, If your going to buy an AM ski or hull then it is usually worth the flight or drive to go try one out. And IMO you really need some time on one, lets face it, you get on your buddies RN and it rides HORRIBLE compared to your identical hull. But after you get used to riding it with loose pole and steering and the pole too long and the holds too small then you can see where its really the same handling, recovery and hookup carictoristics as yours for the most part.

Save the extra cash, travel a little and be patient while you try a few different hulls, then buy the one you liked best.
