Freestyle project hull

Beautiful ski! I really like what you did with the holds. I suggest a medium tone color, dark enough to hide the line between the hood and body but not so dark it hides all the sweet body lines. Think sports car. After all, this is like a Ferrari or Corvette of stand ups. My suggestions: Bright Octane red, Rich coppery orange, or my favorite: Safety yellow. Hey, it's your ski. How bout pick your favorite color and go with it. You've done great so far. Don't get too crazy on the graphics just yet. We want to be able to see what that thing looks like naked .

It was funny yesterday watching nickwad and his new ski.
Nick was getting wound up for that first backflip and wondering if it would do it or not.
Then this oldish Thai guy with no helmet, shoes or life jacket jumped on it and within about 2 minutes of riding it had a go at a backflip. He got over 180 degrees on his first attempt.
Nick then had to do it of course and got about 270 degrees on his third attempt.
Somebody then started doing barrel rolls but reckoned the pole was too long.
Nick has got some great photos. Hope he puts them on here.

I used epoxy mixed with colloidal silica with finely chopped up fibres mixed in to hold the battery tray and clips.

The new ski went very well with minor electrical problems , I am sure now it would flat water back flip plate to plate with the 701 if the right person was on board!!

I was pleased with my first attempts, I managed to get round to almost vertical. We ended up shortening the pole another 30mm , The foot holds still need some alteration . The pole area needs some additional strengthening and a bulkhead as expected, I wanted to see how much it would flex without a bulkhead! I have decided to fit a bolted in removable brace just rear of the handle pole bracket.

I am also going to remove the bond flange just at the front and strengthen inside to compensate at the same time.

Some of the pics are myself and some are Mutt from the Flamingo team here in Pattaya, He is their freestyle expert. The barrel roll sequence is him not me!

Sadly My friend Maxxx 555 had an electrical problem with his ski , But I am looking forward to having a go next time!

The weekends conclusion is the hull has great potential, I need to get fitter! It is quite hard to ride due to the short length and lightness but I am sure it is capable of great things with a bit of practice!
I am planning to make a longer ride plate for slightly heavier riders and for free ride. All in all I was very pleased with the results !:Banane01::Banane01:

I was asking because I bought my Rickter and it has no spring, just a TIGHT pole bolt. The pole stays where I put it, but I'm just not used to riding like that. I have the parts to put a spring on it, but people keep telling me that pro's run no spring and stiff pole setup.

YES we are going to LSFR.

Aaron

I can only ride a ski with a spring if I am just carving turns. If I try a nose stab or a roll I feel like I have nothing to hold on to.

I have even raced my SJ with no spring using an XMetal Pole.

Looks good!!!!! what spec is ur motor?

It is a 701 ported, B pipe , Head, Machined flywheel, Stock W/B , stock carbs. stock pump, solas 13/17.

Can anyone tell me what is a typical angle for the tilt nozzle when tilted up for a flat water back flip ?
