Freestylefest 2009!

Freestylefest will be held on Sept. 19th-20th. The 19th will be on Ipperwash beach in Canada. The 20th will be at bolles harbor in Monroe, Mi. (aka the hothole).

For those that dont know, the Hothole is a small area of water that the powerplant empties there cooling water into. This keeps it unseasonably warm through cold weather. This is usually the last chance to ride in Michigan.

Im pretty sure that by Sept. anyone trying to cross the Canadian/US border will need a passport. So if you would like to attend both days of the ride, try to get one.


Like many years past this event is for the riders by the riders. Ive always felt the dealers and manufactures need a break from sponsoring events. So Freestylefest is all about meeting new people, talking about riding and maybe learning from the experienced. and above all... having fun.

Any new ideas about this event are more than welcome! please send them to me via pm. There were ideas in the past to do contests... Im sure there will be a couple boats at the hothole for us all to try the double boat wake! its extremely fun.

I'll make it to one of the days for sure! :wavey: Glad it's getting planned early this year. Always a good time....still draws a good sized crowd of skis!

I don't want to be a kill joy, but how does everyone feel about keeping alchohol off the water, and save it for after the riding is finished this year. After last years turnout I think this would be a step in the right direction to bring many more people back to FSF and keep it fun and safe for everyone involved.

I agree, after seeing all the alcohol and people going out with no vest/helmet after drinking and trying backflips, I don't plan on returning, and I'm one of the founders of the ride.

It's 10 hours, with 3 kids, plus the border crossing, for 5 people.

I've never been to the Canadian side actually, we went with our oldest one time when she was like 2 maybe for a different ride.

10 hours, we go to the Gulf...

sure you have, I rode you "fake Polaris" at ipperwash back when I had the biohazard SN (I think you even took a pic in your gallery), my wife talked with your wife, back in, I think, '02?

but yeah, 10 hours would be a pain

PS. I think when I rode it you yet had matched to carb to intake.

Jett, if you drive like me (80)you'll get there in 8hrs. Those Ohio cops won't mind a bit.

What I was saying is that wasn't Freestylefest, it was just a ride, we spent a couple of days up there. It was 2003.

Ok, so it's settled. No Alchohol at the ride site. There, I said it. It's done. Any of you pansies that can't go one day without drinking and riding can piss off. Don't make me be bring out the whippin stick, and shame you in front of the crowd.

Thank you kahuna! I am working on a couple boats for double up. So we have our own people that will go the speed we want and be aware of jetskiers. I just dont trust joe shmo with a boat to look out for us.

should be a good time im looking forward to this and the other surrounding rides this summer!!:woot:
