just got in my front exhaust kit with waterbox from xmetal, and was wondering what should I use to seal and hold the exhaust outlet to the side of the hull:dunno:??? thanks again guys!!!!!!:woot:

Let me know if you notice any more "POP" and how much louder it is I'm considering it.

Thanks
-Todd

You will not notice any more "POP".... A flow control valve will help clean up the very bottom end, as it drys out the exhaust.... The Xmetal box will be louder, but his new waterbox is more throaty then the older style that I run, and I dont think its as loud either..... if you run it dual the way it is meant to be run, its realy not to loud. IMO..... now my old style XMW Box with front only, is QUITE LOUD! ..... but I am all about the weight advantage.

You will notice that it helps to lighting up the nose of the boat.

Thanks! I wasn't sure if the waterbox gave a lil more pop or not. I plan to run it dual if I do get it.

Thanks again.

When I installed the Box I ditched alot of weight... so my boat handled completely different, and had a better power to weight... it may give you a slightly more crisp bottom bark, but its hard for me to say..... I find it worth it for the weight savings, and his new box sounds fuggin sick! Heard one yesterday for the first time.

just take a dump b4 you ride, if you look at total weight of your boat, put it on a scale with "you" standing on it.

on the sxr I saved almost 7lbs by removing the rear exhaust. I've shed nearing 35lbs off this pig not incldung the light weight battery going in today, thats another 7lbs off. It has changed this boat big time!!!

Word up! Running front only saved about 4lbs for me..... I already had the tray opened up.... I ran my scupper through the old exhaust side...

Note: It is much louder having front only exhaust..... sometimes I wish I left the rear in tact. :cool2:

I used small stainless screws and a 5200 equivalent on both of my skis which is about 6 years with no problems. If you are into weight savings then use a dab of glue and 4 aluminum pop rivets. It is hard to see but this is my first job and it was a piece of exhaust pipe and a flange welded on it screwed to the inside. I think Yamaslut is using exhaust pipe and no screws with his just 5200

rtv silicone adhesive/sealant around thru hull piece and back of outer plate to hull..then 4

small bolts from exterior to interior around exterior plate with nuts on the interior side.

Just ride
im not going to lie, i have the newer x-metal box with front and rear exhaust and it is pretty loud. it's not something you want to run if your going to be riding close to a lot of people for a while.

Good to know.

I figured it would be pretty damn loud since to me riding with the B Pipe and engine mods is pretty loud.

I've found with my new mod'd ski I can do tail walks or whatever u call them pretty easy, even with the exhaust back there.

I may do just the x-metal water box to save weight, and keep the exit in the rear... or when I do footholds do a side rear exit.
