front exhaust out let question

Ok, ready to install but the exhaust hose (OEM) wont fit on the new waterbox . The OEM hose does fit if you dont' cut it, but in order to mount the box you have to cut ~4" off the hose which removes the widened area :/

Anyone else run into this problem? Once cut the hose actually fits INSIDE the waterbox. (I have a spare hose I tested with.):smashfreakB:

Just ride
the hose is the same size the whole way through. if it fits inside the box then yo either have a worn out hose or someone put a squarenose hose on your ski and streched out the end to fit a RN waterbox, the squarenose exhaust hoses are smaller than a rn. I cut mine back and it fit perfectly.

Well, since I have a SN theres the problem

Well it is def. noticeable!
I can really tell the front end is lighter and I can tell it leans to the right more due to battery and less counter/center weight up front.

I can also tell a big difference in hookup with the front exhaust, especially doing turns and gassing it.

With the XMETAL waterbox and front exit it's WAY WAY to loud for me to use though, I need to get it a lot quieter.

The flow valve will do this  where can I buy one? And what's the reason the flow valve makes it not so noisy?

I would guess the weight savings is similar w/ a sj.. my ski feels really light in the back end w/o the exhaust back there...

FOr the guys who think it's too loud, just run a bypass into the end of your exhaust... It really quites the ski down...

What's the details on the 'bypass what does it do ?

running your cooling water into the tip of the exhaust instead of to bypass/overboard. Just run a line off the head into the exhaust or out of the pipe... which ever you think is better... This will quiet down the exhaust big time...

Keep us posted if that quiets it down sufficiently after you route some additional water into it.

I've been consideringthe X-Metal box as well. But, my boat is borderline too loud as it is. Any louder and it's going to be obnoxious!

Did the X Metal box lower the tone at least?

What ???? my ears are still ringing from yesterday, :crutches: It is very loud in the water but quiet out of the water. Seems like a waterbypass or injection flow valve will fix this.

Do you like the way a helicopter sounds? It's loud as hell! If the bypass fixes it I'll most likely go to front exhaust only to save weight in the rear .(this winter)

The only times I heard it come out the rear was when the rear comes out in a maneuver and I accidentally bumped the throttle.

The weight savings were so noticeable for me I am excited to remove the rear this winter! :headbang:

Think I can just block-off the bypass OUT of the stinger?
(Block the bottom blue to prevent water going out of hull) In this Picture

Or maybe connect the top cooling from the engine to the bottom blue bypass so they all go to the stinger, and none exit out the side??

Ya I guess Im clueless on this but it was amazing how quiet the boat was outside of the water but how loud t is to ride and listen to. Posting just to see the results, will help if I can.

listen closely now... I said it once already..

direct the cooling water line out of the head and into the end of your exhaust pipe approx. 1-2" from end of exhaust utlet...

Does this mean you have to drill a hole or is a line already there?
