hey frostola
what did you reinforce the sides with and if its texisillyum shoot the lep a few pics

i did the sides like this:

Fill in the bond line with foam and sand even with sides
1 layer of 8.9oz texalium - 3" wide strip to cover the bond line
1 layer of 8.9oz texalium - 8" wide strip to cover that
1 lay of 14oz biax cloth covering the entire side - nose to bulkhead

didn't really take any pics of that process - but this one shows the 2nd layer - i even did the tray area

ran the ski sunday and it handled great! also ran very well, got the bottom end pretty much dialed in. Still need to work on the top end though... it seams to break up a bit at 3/4 - WOT.

Wondering if with the higher compression (195psi), lightened fly wheel and ported cyl are spinning the 13/15 prop too much at top end causing me to hit the rev limiter??

I run a Pro-Tec modded OEM CDI - set to 8500 RPMs, wonder if i should take it up a little higher??

Any thoughts?

Yah I find im spinning my 13/16 cutback too but around mid to high

yeah, it sucks... in my other ported RN i was not having any trouble with my 13/16 cutback. but i think the lightened flywheel in the new boat is giving me more RPM's and with the 13/15 cutback it just not able to handle it. However, Bottom end... Friggin awesome. Mucho power out of the hole. So... screw top end.

Nice build.

Thanks man.

well, i swapped out the CDI from my other superjet (which is an adjustable Pro-Tec OEM CDI). When I pulled the one out of the new superjet I found that looks like it was cut open and re-epoxied to just have the rev limited removed (not adjustable) it doesn't seem to have had it done.

Once i installed the Pro-Tec adjustable in the new ski it was totally different. Still hit the limiter (set to 8500 rpms) but it's way better now.

also, i got my 2001 back up and running... for now... stock 701 cylinder... next winter i'll rip it all down and rebuild everything to match the new ski...

here are some pics of them together at last...

so this ski runs great!! killer bottom end, throttle response and great accelleration. Love the handling for sure.

I have everything dialed in pretty good except for one thing... when ever i do a nose stab (and it's only been flat water here so far) when i come out of it it feels like the carbs are either loading up or I'm getting water in them and it takes a few seconds to clear them.

I'm running oem air boxes, which i cut to fit the ADA girdled head.

Any thoughts...

oh, and my jetting specs are

main 100 H 3/4 turn out
Pilot 115 L 3/4 turn out
2.3 N/S
65 gram spring

on a ported 82mm 61x cylinder, 62t cases, ADA head with 33cc domes, lightened flywheel, OEM ignition with pro-tec adjustable rev limiter, R&D intake mani, Riva reed spacer, MT VF reeds, OEM 44's and a limited chamber FPP

Great read, Frosty. I love the unique color, and it looks like you've done a really professional job. Can't wait to see it in person out on Erie!

Thanks Bro! I just changed the carb set up last night and hope to get out after work today to see how that set up works for me.

Other than just dialing the carbs in the ski is amazing...

After two seasons of riding this ski I finally have some repairs before the 2010 Daytona Freeride. This ski has been awesome to ride... looking forward to riding it in Daytona in a few short weeks.

This will the last season for the creamsicle ski - she is cracking apart, despite being fairly heavily reinforced. I bought a new 2010 oem SJ hull which will be here in about a week... So my new build will begin this fall.

WCF footholds
XMw hood
Blowsion Destroyers
Blowsion one way valve
poly light foam refoam

Everything else will come from my orange ski
