Fuel delivery issue 61x/62t dual 38's

Ok so I'm a little stumped on the issue I'm having with my setup recently. Up until last weekend my ski has ran perfect with no issues. Last Sunday I pulled the ski out of the garage and went to fire it up before we headed out to make sure everything was good to go. Ski always starts within 1-2 seconds of cranking with no choke or prime. This time it just cranked and cranked wouldn't spit or sputter just nothing. Finally I dumped some fuel down the carb throats and it started right up and free revved just fine. Rode all day no issues with 15-20 min breaks in between riding. But after the ski Sat for 2 hours it struggled to start again , but did start. It blubbered for a few seconds and then cleared out and ran awesome again. Took the ski home and pulled it out the following day and it wouldn't start again. I can see in my fuel lines that it doesn't appear they are pumping fuel during cranking. But if you start it with fuel down the throats I can see fuel moving fine through the lines. I just don't get why it's only doing this at start up. Bad fuel pump? Clogged filters? Etc? Just thought I would check here to see if it's something simple before I open the carbs up.

That's where I figured I would start, I got a in line one right after the tank too but I know they don't filter everything.

I usually clean everything and put it back together once a year. I find that I get a little corrosion starting to form on my o-ring surfaces, little clog here or there, etc. Usually don't need parts. Sometimes I need a new needle or diaphragm but it seems like the rest of the fuel pump parts last a good long time.

May I suggest a primer instead of dumping fuel into the carbs. Little safer and more convenient.

Haven't needed a primer up until now but I may invest in one. I'm gonna open the carbs up tonight and give them a good clean.

Find a better quality primer than the one SBT sells. I prefer the plunger over the bulb but the SBT one is junk. I think other people sell the exact same one. I was told that the one that a friend got for me was a japanese one by Mikuni, but it doesn't say mikuni on it, so I'm not sure.

Think I'm gonna just try cleaning them first if that doesn't work I'll hit him up for some diaphragms.

If I had a nickel for every used ski I've seen that the previous owner says "carbs just serviced/rebuilt/cleaned/etc. etc.". In every single case it is complete BS. Vumad said it perfectly.

Have a new needle seat ready to go for each carb. If popoff is not CRISP, replace. Do you run ethanol in your fuel?also, only genuine mikuni stuffs. I think its your n/s.

Any motor thats properly tuned should fire right up, maybe a couple sec of cranking, and no primes. This aint Amazon.

Bad tank vent?

Do you have a Primer on the supply fuel line? If so, then cap off at the T from fuel line to make sure no airleak in primer or connections.

Pop off was real crisp when I checked the carbs before the engine went in the ski, only put two hours on it since. No fuel dribble at idle and pop off was dead on at 24psi in both.

No primer and the check valve seals when I blow air into it so I don't think it's the valve.

Opened the carbs up today and the internal filters had a little crud in them. Blasted out everything with carb cleaner. Opened up the jet side and crud was floating all over in there. Pulled all the jets and N/S and cleaned it all out. Put everything back together and she fired right up. Think they just needed a good cleaning. Gonna lake test it before the end of the week.
