FX-1 vs. Triton 186 = me losing

I would personally go vigilante after all that :):):):). Once again the system proves to not :):):):)ing work. The fisherman should've kept a reasonable distance from you, not tailgating your ass. If I ever personally find myself in Tennessee, I would PM you, join forces and open a can of whoop ass for these people. Regardless, have a speedy recovery, best of luck to ya.

Jetski is riding along at 25 mph. Bass Boat is cruising about 45-55 mph. Jetski slows and makes a sharp turn. Bass Boat covers 150' in about what? 2 - 3 seconds. Bass Boat does not have brakes like a car. Jetski turned and reduced speed. Had Jetski maintained speed and direction, Bass Boat may have easily been on a course that would have had him pass well clear of Jetski. Sucks, but I call it Jetski Operator fault. Everybody assumes boat traveling in same direction, It may have been crossing behind ski at an angle. Had that angle not changed then jetski would have been clear. But when Jetski turned, it changed the angle of convergence.

Glad your ok. (Alive)

You make quite a big assumption yourself. Here is where the accident occurred. 300yds to the east of the bridge.

We were both traveling east (up-stream). The accident report even says this. Also, the report says he first saw me (300yds ahead) as he passed under the bridge and the boat slows to idle 100' before impact. They say I turned and collided with the front of his boat. As in... I hit him. Look at the damage on my ski. Not sure about your ski but none of mine travel sideways.

It doesn't matter anyway. It would have cost 3x to fight the charges and there's always the chance the result would've been the same. I paid the fines and for his boat repair just to make it go away. What's done is done. I posted in the 'Carnage' section, not the 'who's fault do you think this is?' section.

I've owned and operated a boat much longer than I have pwc. It's my responsibility to overtake a vessel in a safe manner. Boats don't have brakes but they do have steering wheels. I wish the boat driver would have been patient enough to distance himself & pass me safely. I wish I had checked behind me before making that turn.

Thanks to all for your positive words! I am truly a lucky man and obviously have some kind of purpose left in life.

Sorry, I'm a little testy about this. It's been a rough 3 months. My carbon freak fund is being used for dental implants and a trolling motor. I'm trying to stay focused on the things I can change like fixing my ski and healing my body. Bottom line is I should've been more aware of my surroundings.

Really sorry about your luck man... I don't know how you keep it together but I applaud your attitude.

Even more so, i'm glad you didn't get killed. When I first heard that this happend my heart sank, as long as you heal and can live another day everything else will come around. Even better that you're back on the water!
