LOL @ this, why is Mark building your ski for you if you are advertising being a jetski mechanic on craigs list?

I Could have built it without a problem... but I have not done aftermarket skis, Its a lot more complicated to put together a full aftermarket ski.then it is to take apart, fix and put together a stock ski....I dont have the ability to weld(which was required at points here already, and the custom fitting of a bunch of things, it doesent hurt to have a friend help you out with a build as opposed to doing it all alone.. .

But bottom line being.. would you deny it if a friend offered to help you build you ski?

I would assume almost everyone here would accept the friends offer.. .

I have used the stock battery tray in my bobs. Never had a problem. Believe it or not, all my skies have the stock oem battery holder in them. Broke i=one in 3 years.
Ps. Whats with all the low blows. Build it, ride it, enjoy. Just back up what you say. I have heard from alot of people that you are going to win world finals am. Good luck

The bob gen two that sank was my old white and red. The guy i sold it to tried a barrel roll and blow the hood off. I have know idea how that happened because we flipped and rolled it all over the ocean and no problems. Either it wasnt hooked right or the strap came loose.

So it was a G2 that ended up sinking...

Yeah, Id rather take the "insurance" and just run the dual straps.. cant hurt anything.. can only help.. so why not?

Yeah, I dont know how to ride a ski.
how do you even stand up ?
Does that pole thing move?

LOL

JK.

EDIT- If the BOB stays at the shop much longer, one day Im going to come to work and its going to have a fix steer hood.. then the 3rd question wont need answering...

We can all be the judge of your riding at Wavedaze... No pressure though :)
You can compete in the Cherry Buster, Best trick, and the standup race. If you win all 3 then I will agree you are the man!

SXRs have a "litle" edge on that one..

Cherry buster is for people who have never landed a flip or barrel roll... During the competition if they pop their cherry and land plate to plate they win

Ok this whole battery box thing was bugging me and making me think I'm nuts.
Well a stock SJ box also doesn't fit. The tray hits the motor mount area and it doesn't sit on the mounts points.
Now I'm not saying anything against BOB but I'm just telling you what I'm seeing in front of me. Am I missing somthing?

I've held my own against limited SXR's on my G1 BOB. You can get in and out of corners quick, but it doesn't look smooth.
WOT straight line gets a little sketchy at times, but I bet I had about 5mph on my buddy's SXR.

What an interesting thread. Here is my unbias review of this specific hull. The hull itself looks pretty good, whoever put the stickers on needs to find a new job, the BOB Holds seem like a really great design, the battery tray ordeal is rediculous. All in all I give it a 6.75 out of 10 for build quality.I know when its done its going to be freakin sweet. Custom stuff has custom problems. I've been in the custom building world for a few years. Nothing is ever completely "perfect". There are definate design flaws in this hull but nothing to get panties bunched up over. When this build is over evereryone will be happy and forget about all the small bs. Just ride and leave the bs on the shore.

DKCT can you elaborate on your reasoning about the sticker quality? You're entitled to your opinion but I don't see a problem with the stickers and personally I like how BOBs look with the sticker layout and the various options that are available.

The stickers are full of air bubbles and are real bad in person. You can't tell in the pics. Dave has been in the shop during the build so he has seen it first hand.

The sticker thing once again not a huge deal but there are a bunch of bubbles. Not a huge deal that can be fixed. The big BOB sticker on the side of the hull looks like it was cut with a steak knife instead of a new razor blade. Luckily the hood covers that mess up and actually its something that could be fixed. I only met Chris a few weeks ago and he's just a young kid trying to ride like everyone else. He doesn't know much about building custom machines and if he did build it I promise it would have taked 10times the amount of time its taking Mark but only because of the little problems that have come up. I for one have never seen another BOB hull in person so I don't know if this is a rare case or the norm.Either way I just don't see much attention to detail which is what makes a good company great. This is backflip on a budget and that's just what its going to do.
