Custom/Hybrid Getting new ski need help deciding. Rickter FR2 or 2014 superjet

the 08 and newer driveshaft is longer to compensate for the setback pump. i think its a total waste to take a $9000 bone stock ski and turn it into a $1000 hull. you could buy a 3,4 or $5000 ski with go fast parts and turn that into a $1000 hull. your AM build will have HP parts and you will be in it way less money wasted. i've got an 08 hull that i'm turning into a $6000 boat, instead of dumping a $1000 hull.

buy this, dont waste time and $ trying to get to this when you will innevitably have $16k to get to this otherwise, offer the dude 10k and take it home with ya. or something like this anyway.
there are lots of options for AM boats in the 10k price range dont waste your time with OEM new crap that will need 3k in performance upgrades and a minimum 3000$ hull added to the cost in the end to end up where you will be buying a deal like the above.
I dont know that dude and there may be better deals in that range out there but this was one I see
I just picked up a low hour sitdown when I built my Rickter, I used a 96 waveventure 700 that I got for $500 that was mint, I see lots of 500-1000 dollar couchs that have hour meters and have not been abused and sank like the standups have, makes building that after market hull way cheaper! All I used was the motor and electronics, I also used a lot of the bolts and hardware so I didn't spend a dime on expensive stainless bolts! Go with the FR2 you will be very happy!
Point remains, the 08 and up pump will bolt into any SJ and any a/m hull that takes any SJ pump.

Ok so I didn't end up getting the superjet. Sending a deposit for FR2 on Monday. After going over all the money I would have to put into a superjet to get it close to what I wanted it made no sense. I'm getting the white and blue one from performance1. I have a friend who is possibly interested in a used superjet if anyone has one they would like to sell I will forward it on. This forum has been great! Thanks everyone!

you know that tc freeride is just a couple hours north of where your at? you wouldnt have to ship a ski cross country... but any ways, come out and ride surf when you get your ski.

For what its worth, I think you made a great decision.... The FR2 is a great hull. You'll love that ski, not mention the blue looks awesome!
