girdle head recommendations

I am looking to get a girdle head for my sj and was wanting some recommdations as what to get. do i really need a removable dome head or can i just get by with a non removable dome head. i do not think i would be changing compression on my ski. i want high pump gas compression. what do you recommend. are the non removable dome heads much cheaper. who has the best prices on heads. i was looking at the ada head but like i said i do not think i would have the need to change the compression later on. thanks

I bought my ADA at Jetworks, the price was good. Right now you don't need a removeable dome head however if you keep reading this forum you will probably change you set-up several times a year. Maybe next year you will make your Superjet in to a 760.

i got mine at atlanticjetsports.com and looked everywhere else first. their's was the best deal by far. it was almost $100 cheaper than ada's list price. removable domes for sure. i just had a screw go through my engine and all i head to buy was a new dome instead of a whole new head. definately no reason to get a non-removable dome head.

ADA Only! That way you can use it for all kind of combo's of engine builds, Stock and wild mod strokers with a change the set of domes! Kevin also will treat you right at legdrag.com as well as me...

^^^^^^Doesnt riva have all the domes you would need for any motor as well?

I just got a greater yamaha girdled head, it looks alot like the riva. Does anyone know anything about this head? Is there domes from another head that would work? Just curious. Thanks

Riva's and Greater's are almost next to JUNK!:aargh4: They crack the domes a lot and the o-rings around the domes don't last as long as the ADA's. :hail:

I don't know anything about Riva's orings, but I have been running my original ADA rings for over a year now - still seal great.

I have had a great run from my riva head
i have never ecer cracked a dome and even when i machined it back 3 mm to allow for my stroker engine

My o-rings last about 12mths on average in my boat

The only time i have seen a head other than r&d crack domes is when there was an issue with the cylinder not be flat
This was allowing the domes to move and crack them

If you start to make power with your yamaha you will notice the sleeves drop just once i am not sure why but this does happen

Don't know about Greater, but the Riva domes I've seen have been very inconsistent. Overpriced too for what you get.

im running a riva non-removable dome head on one ski (185 psi) and an ADA removable dome head on wifeys ski (185 psi).

the ADA is WAY better in that it doesnt use a head "cap" and the hardware is far superior to the junk riva throws together.

as for the riva head, itself.... i dont have any complaints about it, but if some metal shrapnel starts flyin around above the pistons or deto occurs, ill be buying a new head instead of JUST new domes.... but thats just because the domes are nonremovable.

ada all the way.

So its junk but you have no complaints ??

I would run a riva over a ada as the domes are alot better supported than the ada
I have never had an issue with a head cap on a riva head and i am wondering what issues people have had

If you fit the rubber orings coorectly then they never leak
