After over 20 years of riding Blasters, Superjets, Blaster 1100's, and last year a GP1300r (still only a two seater, no tow hook) I bought what I mocked at for decades.....a couch:confused:

Hanging out with the family oriented friends with boats and 3 seater skis all towing tubes and wakeboards, I finally caved a bought a FX SVHO. Gauges, warning lights, reverse, brakes, cruise control, and even F-en cup holders! lol. I am a hypocrite but I have to admit this ski hauls ass and handles amazing for such a beast of a ski. I'll have to trim part of the fleet but I wont give up my superjet...never!!!! Forgive me if I am sneaking over to greenhulk occasionally.

Ha ha, three years ago I bought Kathy a Yamaha FX SVHO, in hopes she would come to the lake with me more? Today the couch has less than 5 hrs total run time on it! The SJ's & SXR's in the family still rule the roost! Go Figure!

HAHAha you are not alone, i went one step further, Sea-poo's WTF, and yes we love them. just remember to put the trailer deep into the water and not over beach it. you cant man handle 900 lb ski like SJ or blaster. Your back will love you for it.

I bought my couch from a freerider; it was like ripping my balls off and handing them over.

There is definitely some cool tech in them. You kind of forget Yamaha actually still does r&d if you never look outside of stand-ups.

Couches aren't all bad, as long as you're not a weenie on them! I bought this STX-R to pull the kids ZUP board a few years ago and it's been fun.

I started on stand ups, hated couches. I thought people that rode couches were lazy, ignorant, stupid, and didn't deserve to be on the water. (Plus I couldn't afford a decent one so phuck those guys right?)
I left the sport once I joined the Corps and jumped head first in when I got out.
I got a couch... and a ton of stand ups.
I can't tell you how many times I've thanked my lucky stars that we brought the couch out with us. When a ski goes down and you have to a couch to go grab said ski and person out of the surf to protect both rider and equipment it's a great feeling.
I even ride with people that hate couches and rag on them all the time. I have a few friends that don't rag on couches after a couch saved them and ski from the surf lol.
Plus it's a nice beer holder, it's nice when you're tired of riding and want to relax. You can just switch with the couch driver.
Couches are meh but it's honestly all about smiles per gallon in my book.

Secretly, all of us hardcore stand-up guys see couches and wish we had one just to do donuts and let the wife/girlfriend ride on the back.

Since I don't have a couch, I have to eat donuts and ride the girlfriend later.

Wait, that sounded bad. I gave up donuts years ago.

Dude, you can't go wrong with supercharged couches ;)

It is really fun to go ride with my dad on his, fast, comfy and you can do some nice sight seeing. Good for families. Start turning them at speed and you'll develop some new muscle groups that's for sure.

A buddy of mine rides with a group of old guys (65+ years old) that ride supercharged couches all through our local rivers and streams. He invited me to go and use his spare ski and I'm actually looking forward to it, but scared I might go buy a couch. Lol I think it might turn out to be a blast so I say go for it.
