I already ordered that one I posted. I think it'll work good. I like that it doesn't really protrude, so if you hit it, it wouldn't do any damage...

The first guy I let ride my ski busted the bilge knob off with his knee, and it was on the far right side of the dash. So that tells me that the lower profile the better. :dunno:

So all you need is a tig welder and know how to weld SS lol.

LOL....

sirmrmanguy...brilliant!!! i got a climbing rack full of them, never even crossed my mind. i wonder given your pic if, like climbing, it might be advisable to avoid the rope through the anchor to avoid it being cut under tension..doesnt take much at all to see a rope under tension blow apart with any kind of edge..perhaps a stainless threaded chain link?

thanks again for the brilliant idea.

Speaking of mounting to the pole. I have a Xmetal adj pole with Xmetal steering. How are y'all mounting your limiting straps to this?

I was eyeballing the threaded holes on the plate for UMI(?) style steering.

In post #32 I use the same loop like bracket in my center hole on the xm steering plate mount. I also use a KR limiting rope and it's been solid for two years now. I did have to get a slightly longer bolt to hold the bracket and get enough threads in the plate bracket, but it is rock solid. I can get pics if needed.

Yeah, I'm not following you. Are you talking about the steering stop bolt? Or the for the center of the steering. My Xmetal steering isn't set up with a bolt head on the bottom. Although I could get a longer bolt and put a nut on the end (if that's what you mean.)

Burton, I'm not running a ratchet strap.
