GoPro HD

My laptop
AMD Athlon (tm) 64 X2
Dual-Core Processor TK-53
796 MHz, 1.87 GB of Ram

Is this enough?
Before i left for Utah it said you could record in other froms than 1080i like 720 and something. Im not really going to be able to mess with it until Friday because im on vacation.

You are right. You need a beefed up system to edit HD video.
You need a good Core 2Duo for 1440x1080 (1080i)
or a Quad Core to handle 1920x1080 (1080p)

It will.....might be a bit Jerky while editing.
I see that you might be short on memory but you can just do the editing and nothing else while doing it.

i was just on the gopro website and looks like there is 3 different style mount packages you can buy...there is the surf, helmet and motorsports.....for anyone who already owns a gopro and uses it to film jetskiing, which mount package would you recommend? are you using the helmet strap or the suction cup mounts???

The Helmet kit has a mounting piece you can strap between the breathing holes in you Helmet, if it has any, otherwise you will have to use one of the glue on type.

You can see the strap on mine:

You can always get it separate so I will get the "MotorSport kit" which has the suction cup and then get the strap separate.

p.s: That is NOT the HD model but they are the same size.

I got the motorsports kit because of the suction cup. My plan is to use that to test out different mounting positions and then use the hard mounts at the locations I am happiest with.

I had a chance to get some test footage last night just to see how my computer handles it. Well, I'll have to say I'm pretty pissed. The raw files play fine for me and look amazing (windows 7 64bit) but so far I can't get my editing software (Premier Pro cs4) to handle them correctly. The adobe documentation claims it should be able to handle a .mp4 but when you import them it is a blank green screen and then the software crashes. I found some info on a site (see link below) that suggests converting to avi using another application. Tried that as well and no luck so far although there are a lot of settings to try on the conversion software. PP will import now but the video plays way faster than it should and the audio is at normal speed. I'm sure I'll get this figured out, and will post up when I do, but I see no reason why this has to be so difficult. :banghead:

Here is the site mentioned above... it's got a lot of additional info, specs, and videos showing the camera and how to use it.

Also, here are some sample videos straight off the camera in each of the 5 resolutions if you want to try working with them. Nothing exciting, just test footage... I tried to keep the bucket and camera in the same position for every shot to get an idea of the different fields of view.
