My local Interstate battery store makes or repairs them but I don't know how much they cost. They have terminals and wire samples hanging all over the wall.

I forgot!
i have used a crappy automotive ground wire and it worked fine in the fresh water but i replaced it after a year. they don't hold up like the oem cable. so if you don't care about replacing it in the off season you can get the cheapy.

just realized that car audio power/ground wire is the same as marine wire for half the cost!! Boat stores charge $4.00 per ft while car audio places will sell "tinned copper wire" for $1.29!!

how did you make the jump from marine cable to car audio cable?!...:twak:
and if it was the same then it wouldnt be called CAR AUDIO cable...it would just be called cable...

Just get the right stuff, you dont need lots of it...maybe like 2ft MAX for the ground. (Thats under $10 which i hope to god you can afford cuz if you cant then you shouldnt own a ski)

all of this for a simple ground cable? WTF over!

i know right...anything dirk posts turns into a 2-6 page thread because he wont break down to use common sense and SEARCH...then he try's to low ball the project.

a ski is one of those things you shouldnt be cheap on diggler! Do it right the first time around at it will last...half a$$ it and it wont.

I just remembered that when I use to install car audio stuff back in the day that the power and ground cable where silver inside the insulation. I looked up car audio wire on crutchfield.com and it said its "tinned copper" and can be use in any marine application! I plan on replacing all the ground and power wire on two ski's, which is alot more than 2 ft!

:chairshot:eek:k i'm going to reiterate what i said before about if its not broke dont fix it...

IF ITS NOT BROKE DONT FIX IT. I have a 79 440 with the stock cables and they are fine...so unless your ski had a hull full of salt water that sat for like 5 years and ate the cables away i seriously doubt you need to replace all your cables...

hey man not bashing on you, but these guys are dead on. if your not really mechanical or familiar with ski's you are going to cause yourself a lot more problems then anything
