nobody has guessed it yet.

I have no idea how long i was driving the ski with the leaking base gasket, my compression is still even in both cylinders.

I think the way I fixed will hold up for at least this season, plan on doing a topend rebuild next year anyways!!

someone correct me if i am wrong, but if the base gasket is leaking all that is gonna do it make your case go lean, not lower compression.

dirk did you confirm if it was between your cylinder and cases or the intake manifold? in either case buy an oem gasket from that website you found for us. I have made a few gaskets in my day but not a base gasket. you will only learn how to do one way, by doing it, these guys aren't much help. for the record i seen smitty jb weld a leaky base gasket on a 5mil. lol he's crazzzzy.

youre 100% correct and wick wiggler is 100% clueless..... not that anybody didnt know it already, though.

i dont see wtf the fuss is all about. the guy chooses to "jury" rig his ski and proudly post about it to those who know and recommend better, knowing full well hes going to get blasted for his stupidity/cheapassity.

hes having fun boasting about his cheapassity and we're having fun making fun of the cheapassity. he doesnt seem the least bit offended by it, and its rather entertaining....

so, wtf? right?

I'm going to notify the Oxford English Dictionary so they can put this on the list for next year.

If they can put Rachel Ray's "EVOO" in there - then cheapassity definitely deserves to be in there.

Proud to be cheap! I will post a pic tomorrow of how I fixed the leak! Jaws will drop!!!
I only need it to hold for one summer so......I have faith!!
I did make my own intake gasket(Napa auto gasket material) but I dont think I would trust it for a base gasket.
If the intake gasket leaks it is easy to get off and replace with oem!
