ok heres the picture, you can see it flaking off. If you scratch at it, it flakes right off.

cancel that... on a part that expensive I would worry about it until I talked to Tim... I guess that is the only thing that would make me feel ok about it....

Just got an email back from them. They said it is a rust coating and it will rust with out it, but only if water gets to it. Which it shouldn't inside the cover, but you never know. They said they would get me another one if I wanted.

Has anyone with one of these flywheels weighed it to see if it's actually 2lbs?

Also does someone have a picture of the magnet side they can post?

Mine wieghed in at 2.3lbs

Mine was set up to run advent so the magnets are diffrent than the original ones.Im not sure if he made the change to all of them or made a batch for advent ign.

Did he ask you what ignition you were running?

wondering if it dried residue from annodizing the alum, not sure if they attach the ring gear before or after the annodizing process

fyi if you put steel through the anodizing process it will get eroded away. either the acids or electricity or both.
