The RRP pole is quite a bit heavier than stock.
In fact, there are only a couple of aftermarket poles that are lighter than the stock unit.

Weight, flotation, I don't care. I want the strongest pole on the market. The RRP is a piece of art and its not breaking. The only thing I trust on my jet ski is that handlepole and Cold-Fusion parts.

Just about any aluminum pole will be virtually indestructible. RRP's look cool but I figure I can buy a lot of other cool looking stuff for the price of one. I'm just using a Rick Roy (AC style) aluminum pole and have been very happy with it.

I think the OP axed about weight. :clown:

Content: a decent light weight, durable hood will not be cheap.
Berky's older Superfreak hood should fit a SJ. That's about the only hood that comes to my mind.
There are a bunch of hoods in the 12-14lbs range (stock is 18).
In that range, I'd consider Blowsion, WCF, and Wamilton's.
I would not consider anything over 10lbs light weight.

you wont brake one of these . you can choose stainless or alloy tubes. i would agree about the floatation thing with all these poles though . i was thinking of getting a block of closed cell foam and pushing the pipes through it then cutting in smaller holes for cables etc to run. but now im think im gonna seal up my hood and breath through the pole

My WCF hood was about 11.5lbs and has held up really well to a LOT of pancakes over the past 3 years.
I am also still running my stock shortened pole. I figured I would replace it when it broke and after 3 seasons of surf riding it's still holding up. Stock doesn't look the coolest but it's light and cheap.

Rrp Handle pole, no question about it. They're a bit heavier then stock, but they're not only good looking, they're also adjustable, which is really nice. They are very strong, but I have seen a couple that have broken. Definitely stronger then most handle poles on the market, but they still aren't invincible.

There are multiple threads I've seen on that.
You can wrap the base and pole in glass/carbon/whatever to where the cast piece and the glass piece become one piece.

F yeah, thats the shizz right there! Because after reinforcing thats the pieces that starts to break next...
I love Cold Fusion stuff, i agree its the best of the best from what I have bought and seen.
But $300 is expensive IMO, but you know it will last you the rest of your life... or it could be $300 for a new pole or a good alum used.
