Other Harbor Freight Compression Tester ( Crap ) ?

Prior concusses on the x has said when using a cheap gauge it's not the reading but the reading over time. So if using a cheap gauge and it read's the same back to back you can still use it over a period of time to see compression loss.

Good compression is just a relative term. You don't need compression. If your ski starts you're good to go. Lol
Lol I feel better with knowing what's going on in the inside and getting the most out of my ski. I don't wanna blow it up or not have it to its full potential.

Look at it this way:

You wanna buy a ski. What's it worth?
You wanna sell a ski. What's it worth?
You're building a ski. What's it worth?

WHY THE FU#K ARE YOU BUYING CHEAP AS% TOOLS TO DO ANY ^^^ OF THIS???????????????

With the amount of money the "average" joe spends on their (usually second) ski, does it really matter what you spend on tools?

I don't even have a $15,000 ski, let alone a ski oriented business, and I WILL NOT cheap out on tools.

Hmmmmmmmm..... Hey, nice adjustable wrench and slip joint pliers! How come your skis are on the trailer and not on the water?

I just got the craftsman compression tester from my girlfriend last night. It was my early Christmas present. I used it last night because I bought a ski for parts. Using it just that one time makes me like it more than the hf tester. The carrying case keeps it organized, and the quick couplers make it super easy to use. It comes with spare o rings and valves for the end of the hoses. Not bad for $65. I should of bought one awhile ago.

It says Lisle on it. I've never used their compression tester, but they are a reputable name in my opinion and I wouldn't be scared to use it.

You guys know snap on sells stuff made in china right? A decent portion of their tools are rebadged. It's funny when I see new mechanics blow their whole allowance on snap on and get only a 1/4 of the tools a properly educated mechanic does with the same money.

Sorry. I work with tools everyday and hear te snap on bs all day.

Hf or any comp tester can be off. A good
mechanic will alway test theirs regularly.

Yeah I just put on a New ADA with 35cc domes and my Harbor Freight only read 140 in each jug I'm at 3200 elevation in the mountains, I think I'll try a autozone to see if that changes. Made for a tossing and turning sleepless night wondering wtf lol

Update..ADA SAYS PSI Varies 6-10psi every 1000' above Sea Level.............Soooo the old Harbor Freight maybe ok but yeah not gonna trust it.

may be true on some tools, but harbor freight doesnt come to my work, nor do they offer warranties. my whole tool box is nothing but tools bought off a truck.

Every tools Pittsburgh makes has a lifetime warranty.

Snap ons tools do not all have a warranty. Like I said. I work with tools everyday. Don't feed into all the bs.

Snap on does make some good stuff. Some of the stuff they sell is the exact se thing sold at hf. Fact.

I assure you, the compression tester isn't one of those tools. All my stuff is Matco, and they all have relabeled tools. But when you spend the money I have, they warranty stuff without a warranty. If you want to buy cheap tools to throw around on the beach, I can see that.

I compared my friends harbor frieght to my snap on and it was 45lbs different. Your pressure being close is more important because of what different testers read but showing 125psi when its actually 170psi+ was kinda rediculous.

Rags. Marine shrink tubing. Flywheel puller ( this is identical to the OTC set i paid WAY more for) Screwdrivers. Tiny sealed ratchet set that straps to your gasktank. needle nose for doing the straps. Jacks. Jack stands. Press to press out midshaft bearings. I could go on and on. all quality, or quality enough for a jet ski for sure.

No I'm not a hf fanboy. I'm a tool fanboy. Yes some of their stuff is total :):):):). It doesn't ate a genius to tell the good stuff from the junk.

I just saw everyone saying get snap on. Well I don't agree. I've had multiple friends who's truck guy went out of business and another truck guy 9 out of 10 times won't warranty it if you didn't buy it from him, and then to honor the warranty, you have to send it Ll the way back to the main company. Fact
