Head vs. Hood.... Call it a Draw

Well I believe my season is over. I was out messing around jumping doing nose stabs when something went wrong. I wound up hitting the right side of my head on the side of the left side of the hood. I cannot remember how it happened. I was near the shore when it happened and managed to ride on my stomach in the foot well back to sore. My brother and I hoped in the truck and went straight to the ER. I was pretty calm in the car ride to the ER until I looked in the review mirror and pulled the towel off my head and could see my skull.I ended up with 32 staples and 5 stitches. The staples closed a 22 cm cut that went all the way to the bone and started above my eye brow and ends at the crown of my head.

Man, theat cut is gnarly! I am suprised you didnt crack your skull good thing the hood gave a little, glad you were able to walk away.

I once slammed the side of my ski WITH a helmet on, it knocked me out and dislocated my jaw. I have no doubt that had I not been wearing a helmet I would not be typing this message today. To all riders: "WEAR A HELMET"
You can be the best rider in the world but that one mistake and your head is no match for a hull even at slow speeds.

I will definitely be getting a helmet. To any one out there who was like me and thought "I don't need a helmet I am not doing anything crazy like back flips or barrel rolls" Learn from me and WEAR A HELMET!!! I got really really lucky it could have been so much worse.
