Nothing against the backie chan, I'm not a part of this whole fanboy :):):):) fest that has been plaguing the forums recently, but... do people actually read what the OPs say when they ask questions? or do they just say, I like this or I like that. I may be way off the mark here but nothing about his question implied he'd be interested in anything with 'backie' in the name, or an abriviation that includes the word backflip.
I only see that ski mentioned once, not sure why you're getting your panties in a bunch. In my opinion the hull I ended up getting is a great freestyle/rec ski, I wasn't about to give up the ride of my Superjet for a backflip ski or I would have bought the Rokr I demoed while in my hunt. (although I hear the Rokr with long ride plate is actually pretty nice, long ride plate wasn't made when I demoed.)

I do agree with your previous post though, try as many as you can and pick the one that works best for you!

IMO you are describing a WDK ROK. I have not ridden one but I own a yamaha poweredWDK Envy (Similar to trinity EVO...full size SXR but light) and love it! Korn loves ROK's and owns a kawi powered EVO.

Are you recommending a hull you have no experience riding? :clown:

Yes...lol....just based on how much I am willing to spend in this hobby and what I have seen with my hull and heard form Korn.

I think we can all agree this dude needs to get to a freeride!

Damn straight. Ride as many different hulls as you can, even those you don't think you'll like. I rode a Footrocket, fully convinced it wouldn't be for me. 15 minutes later I was ready to pay a deposit on that hull.

Forget about it all and get a Vision by Watercraft Factory. Best all around a/m hull there is, priced right.. I had 2010 SJ and upgrated to Vision, 10x more stable than the SJ, 20x more flippier, 30x more turnable. 40x times more fun on flat, 50x more fun in the ocean.
I wasnt the biggest fan of the Vision after demoing one in daytona. The Rocker is way too abrupt causing some weird handing, I found the nose drops funny when turning hard. The quality looked good and was stable, but is far from my first choice for a flatwater ski.

Dud, it was more of a joke what I previously posted as this topic has been questioned here many times. Of course everyone will tell you his/her ski rides the best.
What everybody say here to try as many different skis as possible is also quite questionable. Just a different ride plate on the same ski with everything else the same makes night and day difference. Pole length or stiffness also makes huge difference for your riding taste and comfort. You can try as many skis as you can and travel all around the country to try them all, however each ski will feel different. Soooo just buy a Vision and be happy :)

I rode djkorns trinity evo for 5 minutes and LOVED IT. It just did what I wanted it to do. Mind and ski connection there. It's nice.

I just slid and thrashed around for a few minutes and there was no surprises. I could predict how the boat would act and was dead on.

I have been very fortunate to have ridden/owned a good variety of skis out there with absolutely zero biased towards any of them ( i just bought a kdx and i think a kdx is one of the uglier hulls out there) Here is my .02 i hope it helps as it is just my opinion.
rickter xfr - stable, flickable, rides light but is heavy, super sexy, great fit and finish, $$$$
bob gen 3 - twitchy, very flickable, rides light is light, great looking, and affordable
trinity matrix pro minus 4 - STABLE like an sxr, rides flat, great looking, nice fit and finish,$$$$$
kdx - very stable, flickable, ultra light, flips easy, $$$$$$$
backie chan (just had a quick ride) - very stable, fit and finish is great, extremely affordable
rokr - havent got to ride yet, fit and finish seems good, very affordable (building as we speak)
rev - stable like an sxr but tippy like an fx-1 if that makes sense, lighter then superjet, no flip machine but affordable
fs1 - stable, great lake booter, relatively affordable, very good looking
circus freak - rides amazingly stable, very low to the water, sexy, $$$$$
hurricane - very excited about but have not ridden shows lots of potential

These are just the hulls i have either owned/built/or ridden. It sounds like you would like a trinity matrix as much as i dont like them or an evo or fs2 or fs1. good luck im sure whatever you build you will really enjoy. something about building your own machine makes you really appreciate it more

I need some help wasting my money. I have a 2004 sxr800. It has a pipe head and normal bolt ons. I only ride at lakes and the colorado river. Usually glass. All my friends ride superjets and I love how My sxr handles compared to them. What I hate is how heavy and big it is. I am purely a recreational rider and spend my time jumping boat wakes and chasing my friends around on there superjets. Id like to start doing a bit of freestyle. What I want is a ski that jumps like a superjet and handles like a sxr. Does this exist? Maby a small version of a sxr. Am I an idiot and should I just buy a superjet or does someone make a hull that will work for me.

Please give me your suggestions

thanks
Patrick

The real question is do you want to keep your Kawi engine and hardware? If this is the case, you choices diminish quickly.
