Thanks, I'll try that if all else failsPull the motor slide a bar or something down to meet the shaft and hit it out that way. Had this with a cheap mid shaft last year and ended up cutting the main shaft in the pump tunnel as it was so badly corroded.
Good luck.
My next move is going to be an air hammer, and if that doesn't work, I'm welding a puller to the midshaft and cranking on it.
Funny that we are thinking the same. Don't want to cut...

Yeah, Im not trying to do that. My last resort before cutting is welding the puller to the midshaft itself, and then inserting a piston pin or similar to push the shaft while it pulls on the midshaft. The midshaft housing will not pull of the front of the midshaft. Most of the shafts have a slight shoulder that won’t allow you to press them on but so deep. The housing has to come off toward the pump.
You guys were right. No freaking way that was coming out. About 3" of shaft left to go, so I had to cutI hope I’m wrong but I can’t see the splines being ok after all this trauma. The clearances are pretty tight and even the slightest burr on a shaft spline will keep them from mating. If you force it in you may be asking for trouble.
