and another:

- if adjusting the throttle cable to remove slack from the lever, make sure you test it afterwards...turning the handlebars one way or the other can tighten the cable and open the carb butterfly if you've taken out too much slack.

(My friend swore up and down that his ski kept changing idle speeds and he could never keep it adjusted. This was the cause :)

- after you get home, unlock the hood latch and rest the hood up on it so the engine compartment doesn't get condensation.

- store the ski with the lanyard installed to make the internal rubber bellows last longer.

Thats good advice. I know so many people that never open their hood when they get home. This helps you avoid so many problems. Didn't know the lanyard thing. That makes sense though.

- I'll add that I also put the pole all the way up to prolong the life of the spring.

- Dont use those NGK twist on plug caps. They have a bad connection and will always cause you problems that will leave you scratching your head when you're running on one cylinder.

- Always wear a helmet, even when you're just screwing around.

So is the ski flush ready or do I need to do some splicing? I've been reading on the site for awhile just not alot of talk about stock set ups and if I do have to add one what is the best location since I have no pissers

I went to the website and its not up? Where else would you go to get parts?

Another place that is good for parts is www.mcmaster.com here is the posting that will give you the McMaster number for just about anything ski related that you can think of. Look up whatever you need http://www.x-h2o.com/threads/31581-The-Official-McMaster-Carr-Part-Number-List then go to McMaster and order the part. I live in PA, if it is ordered by 3 or 4 in the afternoon I have it in 2 days all but guaranteed. Another good site that I have had good luck with building a ski literally from spare parts that were laying around my buddies garage...http://www.shopsbt.com/ Of course pretty much that you may need you can usually find of sale on here. Hope this helps...

to flush you need to buy a flush kit or rig something up.

unless there is salt water in Indiana these days you don't need to worry about flushing unless you have some need to run the ski on the trailer for some extended period or are running is some really gnarly pond

Buy a torque wrench.
Buy a voltmeter.
Always have WD-40, loctite, and dielectric compound on hand.
Home depot resin is poop, dont use it.
No matter how much of a pain in the ass it is, shim your components correctly.
Rebuild your carb before posting questions about it (that includes needle and seat).
If your thinking of starting a ski project, double your budget and estimated hours.
SN top decks are poop.
Pipe wrenches, breaker bars, heat, and leverage will solve any problem. A good vice helps.
Budget at least a trillion dollars every week for things that will inevitably break.
Sell drugs to support your ski habit.
Girlfriends cost money, either sell more drugs or put them on a corner.
Wait, what?

Oh, buy a superjet.

I regard to projects...

What he said about money, double it.

What he said about time, double it, then double it again. It might be wise to double it one more time, then you at least have a chance of finishing close to behind schedule.

Disagree

never use starter fluid

Sometimes starter fluid is the only option. It's ONLY for a swamped motor, NOT for a cold day being lazy. Install a primer.

dont let girls ride ski

Girls should always ride the ski. Don't waste time with girls who wont ride the ski. They will try to keep you from riding the ski. Get them hooked, paint your ski pink, tell them you can't ride a pink ski, and buy something bigger and better with their money, cuz you know, you gave them a $makeit.up ski they need to now replace.

When jumping f***ing boat waves with other riders, please, please, please.................... don't reverse jump the wave towards the guy that just wants you to get out of the way.

Not sure if this makes sense, but it sure is annoying.... and dangerous.

IMHO, boat wake jumping etiquette is not just people being d-bags, its so we all don't die.......

And yeah, all you lucky surf guys will have no idea what I'm talking about, lol. :veryhappy:

always, keep two ekstra spark plugs and a fuel filter in the car. If your ski suddenly starts to run strange/like crap. Give it 2 new plugs, if that dosent help, change the fuel filter. If this still dosent run right. Post a topic here :)
