Please help! Newbie here.

I'm trying to find what year my kawasaki is from. HIN number is JS750A - 602729. From what I understand, it's a Kawasaki 750 SX. But what year model is it exactly and what can I get out from the HIN number.

The engine is changed so it is an engine from a Kawasaki 750 SXI Pro with dual Mikuni carburetors.

Thanks /Robin

The seems odd for a HIN number, because usually the last two digits of the HIN number are the year. Are you looking at the HIN number on the back of the hull?

I also think it looks weird. Yes it is the number that sits in the back of the hull. Is there any other number that I missed? It's my first ski so I'm new to this. thanks for helping me.

that hin aint like nothing i have ever seen. the black bumpers and tray side pads only came on 99 and newer pro models. there should be another hin in the engine compartment. either under the battery box or on the rear bulkhead. on the 98-2002 pro, the bottom deck in the engine compartment will be raw fiberglass instead of the white smc. all 1992 thru 1996 hulls are the same. the pro models will have a narrow gas tank with no cut out for the oil injection tank. is the battery tray stainless steel or moulded into the hull?

I just painted the engine compartment. it is possible that I painted over the HIN code :/ gas tank do have cut out for the oil injection tank. Battery are moulded into the hull? and maybe the HIN number is there. I'm pretty sure it's at a SX. With a SXI Pro engine and carburetor.

why i want to know what it is for model year 's for me to swapped the pump housing as the wear ring is disposed. I thought about ordering or rework my old at http://atlanticjetsport.com/

another question. I have a problem with the cooling. engine gets really hot and it comes just a little steam from the pisser on the side.
impeller looks good, but the wear ring looks very poor and uneven wear. the impeller is a new SOLAS.
and if I plug in a water hose it cools it very well. do you think it is the pump housing which is the problem?

Could be the wear on the Pump housing, the brass fitting Clogged/cracked the Hose from the Hull to the pump. the hose from the Hull to the Exhaust manifold. if all that checks out, you may have excessive sediment in the cooling channels. Any thing like that in the hoses when you took them off? How do your plugs look? What do the tops of the Pistons look like?
