I agree the small trailer and whatever vehicle you want. Jamie hickey used to roll around in an accord and pull his superfreak to the the beach with it. I’ve contemplated putting a hitch on my Saturn for trips over a few hours or getting a v6 car and a small truck and getting rid of my diesel all together. You can setup trailer bunks how you want and set them up with almost no tongue weight.

If storage space is an issue you could always get a folding trailer. I've seen a few in the past where people put bunks on them.

Thanks guys! I figured I needed a big suv or full size truck to do it, just thought I'd ask. If i can't find a Tacoma I like, I'll probably get something little and go with a trailer. Civic or Jetta or the like.

If I had to commute in LA Traffic on a daily basis I'd be buying a motorcycle and keep the tow rig parked at home till I needed it for something. Might be another option to consider.

Ive thought about getting another bike. Lane splitting is legal in Cali...

Luckily the new job lets us set our work hours either before or after rush hour to try to avoid traffic as much as possible.

i just picked up a 2017 Tacoma 4x4 SR5 v6 and love it. been getting 18-22mpg so much better than my lifted tahoe at 12mpg! easy to park and still has room for kids and ski in bed.

And that's why I live in Santa Monica. Train for $1.75 a ride. 46 minutes to my office in Downtown LA and no traffic. Couldn't pay me to drive. The only times I drive are to ride Oceanside or Ventura
