Honestly Compare sxr and Superjet

ok well heres the thing.. i have some money now to spend ,

im looking at early 2000 superjets and 2003and newer SXR kawi 800s...

im leaning way more toward the kawasaki sxr 800...

what is every ones opinions on the 2 skis.. i know most of you are superjet fans but be honest :p

well heres the thing... my lake only gets wavy during storms.. well its not my lake but lake erie. normaly on a hot sunny day it is glass or light chop... i love tricks.. i used to bmx for like 6 years. i want to try rolls and what not off boat wakes and on story days try and go big. but i also LOVE speed... but whiping back and forth on the lake open throttle gets boring .. thats why im rding my 88 kawi more then my 2000 sea doo.

if you just love speed just put the money into a fast sit down. I dont see much sense in blazing around on a stand up, too much work (unless your racing... then it would be fun work). If you enjoy riding standups you already or in the near future will enjoy doing stunts with it. And for that my friend a superjet is the only way to go. Not too far behind the sxr in speed anyway, not in comparison to how far behind the sxr is in regards to stunting. Heres my take on it using the X scale terminology........................

................... SUPERJET ................ SXR
STUNTS............:bigeyes::biggthumpup:.................:banghead:
SPEED .............:arms::arms:................... :biggthumpup:

superjet:spank:sxr

:hail:YAMAHA SUPERJET :barrel: :brap:

Get the SJ for the tricks. The SXR is not that much faster that its going to matter.

I've ridden both back to back in the surf. At that point, I had been riding SJ's for 2 years, and it was the first time on the SXR.

I didn't care for the SXR much. In fact, I preferred a Blaster over it.
Felt too heavy, plowed through stuff, hated the pole.
Carved great and handled awesome at speed. I could ride full throttle and feel secure the whole time. It's a bit more of a pucker factor on a SJ.

Might be a real nice shred-around kind of ride on flatwater.

I spent a very limited amount of time on an SXR in the surf (and inlet) and it was a blast. I am a bit heavier than the normal rider and I loved the way the SXR felt. It was very stable and carved nicely. If I had the money I would buy one. . .

We ride on Erie as well, Angola, NY... I think across the lake from you. Anyway, we don't race, we just ride... play around in all conditions, flat, chop, waves, whatever we get.

OK.. all I can tell ya is this. We have about 8 riders in our crew... i had the only superjet for quite a while... the rest all have SXRs. We now have two more SJ's in the crew... and three of the other riders are thinking about superjets too.

I think for racing, yes SXR is the way to go... for just playing... Superjet baby!!!!!!!

I love my SXR for high speed runs, doing fast tight carves, overall the handleing is second to none. On the other hand the Superjet is probally 3/4 the handling of the SXR but doesnt stick to the water or plow through waves like it. And its sooo much easier to jump and throw around....

if you are really going for b/r and b/f get the yami.if heavy surf riding or just freeriding,i think the kawi is a better platform.it is much more stable and goes thru surf like stink.heavier? yes.out of the box it's a better ride but it depends on what you really want to do with it.both equally good,but just different boats.

i got my sxr because it is bigger, and the big tray appealed to me more than my buddies sj. i also think it looks a hell of a lot cooler than a superjet. but jus IMO you should find a local with each and ask for a test ride, so to speak and see which you like more
