Hood Rat to Hot Rod... Js300/440/550 Thing.

Bought this js440 bone stock for $400.IMG_0491.JPGIMG_0951.PNG
Then someone crashed into the back of the blue 440 Thanks NICK.... So he got me a in great shape js300 hull from michigan..... I swapped everything over and we rode it one tank of gas through her then:eek:... the throttle stuck wide and it smashed hard into some mangroves.:(

So she got some facial reconstruction.
IMG_0859.JPG ^the 650 is just for looks. Its going into my x-2. eventually...IMG_0860.JPGIMG_0864.JPG IMG_1150.jpg IMG_1259.jpg IMG_1520.PNG
We rode a few times and it was getting weak spark and this is what I found.IMG_4532.jpg
^Might have been the problem.

I got a little caught up working on the ski but here we go....IMG_5020.JPG

So since I was on such a spree acquiring parts I was thinking.... Now that I have a blueprinted 440 pump with a bored reduction nozzle and new stainless impeller, What good is it without an OceanPro ride plate?

While I'm at it, Lets make a turn nozzle too:DIMG_0482.jpg IMG_0481.jpg IMG_0483.jpg IMG_0484.jpg

I got to talking to a buddy, We were trying to find a couple of pictures of a bondline-less jetski.... no luck. So I guess if I want to see one that bad ill just have to do it myself!

Time to break out the sawzall and die grinder.IMG_5172.JPGIMG_5173.JPG
^bye-bye bondline.
IMG_5223.JPG IMG_5180.JPG

Also going to cut the ridges off the hood. Seal up both the upper OEM 440 exhaust and lower 300 exhaust outlets. Going with rear exhaust.IMG_5306.PNG

Not sure if I should go with an aluminum pipe with a p-trap in it like this or just do the usual hydraulic hose straight through??? What do you guys think would be best???

While continuing my journey deeper into my sickness... I decided, Filler necks are for couches!

IMG_5284.JPG IMG_5282.JPG IMG_5283.jpg IMG_5285.JPG

Just about ready for some glass!:p

IMG_5154.PNG
I think I'm going to wrap the handle pole in a layer of Carbon/Kevlar weave. Probably going with a blue cloth and translucent blue resin though.

Ill keep y'all up to date on progress.

But for real, Which way on the exhaust??

^Strength in a UPS box:p

Whats the worst that could happen???? It breaks in half then we tow my sunk ski back to shore and I switch everything back into one of the other 2 hulls I have laying around... Always think positive!

This is one of those mystery builds, You never know could happen. could turn out to be sicko, Could be a waste of time and money....

Small update!

Got to thinking about the ski and now that it has no bond line how am I supposed to pick her up?????

So I decided to mold handles into the side. They will be recessed inside the hull so it's still smooth on the outside.image.jpg

Continuing laying glass tonight, I will re-update soon.

I am going to use the horns I cut off of the nose for the new Air intakes on the hood.

So after I finished arts and crafts class, My popsicle sticks and foam mold turned out pretty strong.

I like the way she ended up looking. Almost looks VX700ish lol!

^^And no the bottom tip of the nose does not stick out farther than the rest of the hull. It just looks that way in the pic, It flows with the bottom hull curve perfectly.

i think you should wear a life vest.

bond lines are extremely useful in all applications. i feel like that ski will roll over like a log if you fall off.

also, with that much work into it, why not mold in a superjet handlepole bracket in order to use a newer superjet style handlepole? that would be icing on the cake

I do agree, that would look awesome. I'm going to have to figure out something because the 550 handle pole is way too bulky and the mounting bracket looks ridiculous. I want it to look much more streamlined.

I do have a life vest now, but the only problem is WHEN I do eat $h!+ and knock myself out my friends won't be able to find me because my vest is Camo:D
