You're correct, the pic has nothing to do with anything. However, I'm slowly convincing people to just try the 62t oem airbox. So many have ditched it for cool look of the cone type filters for no better reason than everyone else is doing it. I don't know of any actual flow test comparison that has proved either one better than the other. What I do know is the 62t oem airbox is far superior at preventing water intrusion and I know of a few people running that box on 1000cc Dasa engines without issue. One of them being a pro, and I discussed it quite a bit with him.Sweet pic man!

I run a stock box on my play boat to keep water out but it also keeps the air out...
The surf can get pretty nasty here and water intrusion can end your day or season very quickly. It's just not worth it. Plus the oem airbox came with the engine originally, so chances are guys already have them. Why waste money on something inferior? I guess the cone filters look cool, but they're the first thing I'd remove from a surf ski. Actually, the scupper might be the first thing to remove followed by the cone filters.
