How deep do skis sink?

As of now the fish and game commission won’t let me bring it home until they “decide what they want to do with it” on Monday.
i have no clue why they have to “inspect the ski” outside of them trying to find some reason to give me more fines than I’ve already paid. Ski will be hoisted tomorrow and I’ll be trying my best to preserve what I can before it sits in open air for god knows how long. Going to be reading about recovery laws and such in PA and hopefully they don’t try to shaft me more than they already have.

Oh man. Please keep us posted. Hope you don't get the long shaft of the law.

How do they even know you are retrieving it?? I wouldn’t volunteer any info to any government agency!!! F**** em
The guy who recovered it conveniently had a retired fish and boat commission officer on board with him who politely immediately informed the fish and game commission :)
I’m 100% on board with you man. Ain’t good for nothing.

It's actually the short shaft of the law...very very short shaft. That's why they have to give numerous attempts because they can't get any pleasure from one try, it's so short they're not even sure they've got the "point" into us, you ever see how a Singer sewing machine works? There ya go...short shaft of the law :p

Maybe they want to verify it is indeed your boat and not somebody else? But does an EME even have a HIN? And was it actually registered to you?
Yeah it’s titled to me fortunately
They’ll be like “hmmm we can’t be sure it’s you, the guy who we spoke with when it sank and looked for it for 1.8 years, we need do do a blood test and get a dna sample…” lol

Awesome. I love the "I flip for boobies".

Telling the police, yep, that's my ski!

I'm sure a lot will be salvageable, just will take a lot of going through to really clean and inspect. Awesome you got it back.

No hassle from the fire company, they were extremely polite and professional with me from the start!
As of now the ski is sitting on a trailer with a engine full of amsoil until Monday when the police check if they “closed the case yet” (they did about 6 months ago).
You can see in the picture of the bay that the front butterfly is cracked open to about 1/4 throttle.
The set screws on one side of the linkage slipped and caused it. That coupled with a failed lanyard put me where I am today haha. I’m just happy no one was hurt in the ordeal (besides my wallet). Huge thank you to everyone for their advice and support. I’ll be documenting the tear down and rebuilding slowly as I go. I’ll now have 4 project skis in my shop so I’ll have to list some stuff up for sale soon :)
I think as of now the 1200 will be going in the carbon SF and if I keep the EME it’ll be getting the 1000cc stroker 66e again… Told myself I’d sell everything to recoup the losses but two skis is better than one right??
